Afaik those are the general release notes for the Beta.
Does anyone have the release notes for 2.00.0.504 compared to build 503?

Is this the final version, or is a beta "trial"?

The build 2.00.0.0504 is still a beta build, says a staff member at the MBAM forum.

I am saying on my machine 2.00 is booting faster to the desktop by seven seconds vs version 1.75. Seven seconds faster is significant to a person like myself who cannot tolerate slow boots. I admit I'm a little extreme when it comes to boot times but you add seven seconds here, three seconds there and before you know it you have time to go get a coffee and come back before you get to the Windows desktop. My configuration has not been altered in any way aside from the MBAM change. I made images of both configurations with Acronis and ran both for about two hours each with 15 reboots apiece once the image was restored.

Are you using the delayed startup option?

IMHO, there's too many bullet points (37) to publish here. Enjoy.

    02.27.2014

    Greetings :)

Thank you all for your feedback and testing. As you can see based on the changes listed below, we've been listening and working hard to make Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0 the best it can be. I'm excited to announce the third public beta of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0. Below is the list of changes.

    • Several notifications removed based on user feedback so that there are now fewer pop-ups
    • Amount of system RAM used by Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium/Trial significantly reduced
    • Memory leak in scans fixed
    • Memory leak in database updates fixed
    • Scan speed improved drastically on some systems where scans were very slow in previous betas
    • Browsing speed now faster when Malicious Website Protection is enabled than in previous betas on some systems
    • Multiple items may now be selected in Quarantine for deleting or restoring at once
    • Several issues with limited user accounts fixed
    • Scans now run as expected under limited user accounts (it is still highly recommended that users scan regularly from an administrative user account in order to detect and remove all threats from the system)
    • Malware Exclusions and Web Exclusions are now retained when upgrading from one version of 2.0 to another
    • "Help" button in About tab now opens Malwarebytes Support webpage
    • MBAMService no longer crashes when upgrading from version 1.75 PRO or trial
    • Protection is no longer disabled after upgrading from previous 2.0 versions
    • MBAM no longer crashes under some circumstances after updates
    • Legal text removed from About tab
    • Antirootkit Database and Malware Database versions now identified separately in scan logs
    • Scan logs now contain more information about protection and license status
    • Scan logs now list status of Chameleon self-protection
    • Scan logs now show accurate information about license type and user account type
    • Scan logs list additional information about detections
    • Protection logs now show more information about items detected by Malware Protection
    • Database Out of Date notifications now contain an "Update Now" button
    • New EULA included with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
    • Tray icon changes to reflect status of the software and protection
    • MBAMScheduler no longer runs on startup when Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is configured not to start with Windows
    • Updating through a proxy when configured via the Update Settings tab now functions correctly
    • Chameleon updated to deal with the latest rogue/fake AV malware
    • Quarantined items now display immediately after being quarantined
    • Users are now prompted to decide what to do when Malware Protection detects PUP
items when PUP is set to "Warn user about detections"
    • MBAM no longer becomes unresponsive when computer wakes from sleep
    • Crash in MBAMService fixed
    • Updates can no longer cause the program to report that the database is missing or corrupt
    • MBAM 2.0 now accepts MBAM 1.x license keys
    • Using "Copy to Clipboard" or "Export Log" at the end of a scan no longer results in MBAM crashing or showing blank logs
    • System crash/BSOD caused by antirootkit driver under some circumstances fixed
    • Issue where some parts of the UI were not being translated as reported by translators now fixed (non-English languages will be available soon!)
    • Limited users are no longer warned that they might be infected because antirootkit driver cannot load under limited user accounts

We have now disabled the previous beta test key, however you may now use your existing 1.x license keys with this version or you may use the trial.

To download the latest version, please click CHECK FOR UPDATES in the application. We would love if most of you upgraded this way to test the upgrade path. If you would like to install it for the first time, you may download it here.

If the upgrade is successful, you'll see version 2.00.0.504 in your title bar and under the Settings->About tab.

Thank you all for helping to make Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0 a great release :)!

No, I am not using the delayed startup option. I feel like I'm on one of those 1960's TV game shows like "What's My Line?" Bennett Cerf "Did you reverse engineer the software?" "That would be a no." Soupy Sales "Does your computer have more than 8 gigabytes of RAM?" Ummm... Yes, you could say that. ;)

I installed 2.00.0.504 over 1.75 PRO and now can't open my pendrives if Malwarebytes is running. I have to close malwarebytes.

In reference to post #211 in this thread.

Apparently, the false positives issue I was having with earlier beta versions has been corrected in MBAM version 2.00.0.0504

I have run Threat Scan, Custom Scan, and Hyper Scan all with advanced heuristics, rootkit scan, and 'scan within archives' checked and no FPs.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the problem has been permanently corrected.

Thank you Malwarebytes- good job ! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

So with this "improved" version, now I get a nag screen that my protection has been disabled, even though I unchecked the show notification setting. I don't use the real time protection on MBAM, 1.75, but I do schedule an update followed by a Flash Scan every 3hrs, as well as at boot time and all the while it does not load the tray icon, or any service other than the MBAM schedule service and goes "back to sleep" until the next update/scan.

Now with this "improved" version, MBAM will now turn itself "on", load the tray icon with a red ! mark and give me a warning popup and never go back to being "off".

    Nice "improvement" guys. :thumbd:

Interesting way to report a bug on a beta program.

Thank you for the feedback DBone

Don't really understand why you update or scan often if not using the protection modules as it only takes one bad click to infect the computer and with some of the current encryption infections that cannot be decrypted it seems quite a bit more risky especially when you have a license for it.

If all you want is after the fact then speaking for myself I'd reduce the update check and scanning and only do them every so often as I'm assuming you have other protection that you're counting on to prevent a live infection.

    Up to you though.

    Thanks again for the feedback

Fair enough that the new version still has some issues to be sorted - but why do so many online users sound like angry, spoiled teenagers when they raise them?

Just report the issue and they'll fix it.

Correct, I don't use any sig based real time protection as I have chosen to go a different route. I rely on MBAM to scan any new files that I download, and since the Flash scan takes about 12-18 seconds to perform, it's a nice peace of mind to have it do a quick look and go back to sleep. Also, I don't have to check for new updates when I run a context scan as the defs are no more then 3hrs old. It's just the way I roll, and knock on wood, I haven't been infected since before joining this forum.............Thanks for the reply.

Just a couple of observations and suggestions for this latest build. Did a clean install.
It certainly seems (here anyway) to be using a lot less RAM than previous builds :thumb: I'm seeing about 60-80MB being used by the three processes usually, with Malware Protection enabled, but Malicious Website Protection disabled (so far).
I've seen a bit of unexplained CPU usage by mbamservice.exe, soon after startup (not update check afaik), which I'll keep an eye on.

I'm not at all convinced that MBAM 2.0 is presently compatible with WSA, and have seen things which I won't go into here. Please test these two together Malwarebytes.

Suggestions: Under Settings Tabs, I feel what are categorized as 'History Settings', could be best incorporated under the 'General Settings', and this would fill up the 40% empty UI space, which looks sparse at present.

Also, why not have an 'Export Settings' feature? Or am I missing, beyond data stored in Program Data? It could be handy.

    More later, thanks :)

I just enabled the real time protection in the latest beta version and so far it has been very light. It is definitely lighter than in v1.x where I had it disabled due to it making my laptop run slower.

I have the website protection disabled still as I never use any kind of website blocking.

Yeah, I also wondered about that. We need "AdvancedSetup" to clarify.
