Just reinstalling VoodooShield (thanks Dan for the license, great service) alongside WSA.

Any more news on 2.0, it has been a few weeks now since it was "imminent"?

I really wish I could tell you exactly when 2.0 will be ready, I apologize for not being able to figure out when it will be ready. It really is extremely close, I would say about 98% finished. But assuming that we do not have anymore "surprises", it really should be within 2-3 weeks. We are really excited to see what you guys think of this version, so we will get it to you guys asap! Thank you!

    Hi Dan,

Thank you for your answer. :thumb:

I'm going to test VoodooShield tomorrow on Windows 8.1 Pro (32-bit).

I'll post some feedback soon. :)

    Regards,

HI everyone, I have been finalizing the UI while Rajesh finalizes the service and engine. Do you guys like this, or is it too dark? I do not want to play too much off of the "Voodoo" theme ;). Please let us know what you think!

I say keep the same color that 1.30 has. It is perfect to me.

I kind of like the original colors as well, but some people say that the UI needs an updated look. Thank you for your input!

Either okay with me. No preference over new or current GUI.

AH. Too much grey and white. Doesn't seem to be enough separation between areas. Like the tabs should either be a different contrast to stand out as a separate area.

I like the old color combination as well. But ill have to admit, the GUI does need a " Neat" refresh IMHO. The tray icon could use a change too?, something flat seems to be the general direction lately.

Thank you everyone for your opinions! My graphic design skills are quite bad, so I can send it to the guys we have been using for graphic design and see what they come up with. We can leave it as it is for now, and update it before we release it to the public, if they come up with something great. I was just trying to give VS an updated look while waiting for everything else to be completed.

TS4H, I was actually going for the flat look ;). I should let the pros handle graphic design ;).

    Thanks again!

    I agree.:D

Looks of the suggested new GUI, seem a little too sombre, for me...But, what do I know about how it should look.

Hehehe, I agree!!! I got the color scheme from the visual studio installer, I thought it was cool. The VS 1.0 design just reminds me of geocities for some reason, it is kind of dated, not that it really matters what it looks like. If anyone has a cool design concept, please let me know!

Since you've asked here are my impressions: I don't like the black theme, at all. The current shield graphics could use some polishing. The red you use now is good, would go well with a more interesting blue than the flat one you are using now, or even with a blue-green. A spot of red goes a long way with blue or green towards livening things up, making the page inviting.

That's cool, can you please send me a sample of a blue we might want to use? Thank you!

The Opera logo might be a good example.
    http://linuxers.org/~iart/miscellaneous/opera-logo-wallpaper-red-blue
The red and blue are close to yours, and there's a range of brightness there that might work for both your red and blue shields. For the "Settings" page you could pick out one or two of the blues for main highlights from the "On" shield, and for consistency in design maybe use a touch of a red from the "Off" shield.

For ideas about how to convey the feeling you want about VS you can search "graphic design color psychology" for some interesting reading.

Good deal, thank you for the help. That is a really cool red and blue combination! I will show that to the graphic designers and see what they come up with.

When we first started a while back, we actually chose red because it is a color that puts the user on alert, and blue because it makes the user feel safe. I will google "graphic design color psychology", I am curious now! Thanks again!

Hi Kardo, from what I can tell, I think that is normal. Did you install VS about 14 days ago, and it recently expired? For some reason, VS expires immediately in some countries, but we modified the regional settings in VS 2.0, so hopefully that will fix the issue.

Have we set up an account for you yet? If not, just email me the email address and password you would like to use for your account to dan@voodooshield.com and we can set up an account for you. Thank you!
