I installed MBAM on a clean win 8.1 64bit oem install on an ssd. I can get it to run, update and scan after install, but if I close the program and try to open it again by double clicking, it doesn't open. I've uninstalled using advanced uninstaller and restarted, deleted registry remnants. Reinstalled. Still nothing. Can't think of what's going on.

Can you? Anyone having/had this problem?

P.S. Running latest KAV 2014 on default settings.

That's strange. 1.75 is very stable version. Anyways try 2.0 beta and see if it resolves the problem.

it might be helpful to set mutual exclusions between MBAM and Kaspersky

Although MBAM 2.00 beta testing is going quite well, I personally discourage installing a beta version where a stable version is troublesome.

Malwarebytes has published one of many carefully crafted and informative FAQs on its website for the purpose of helping its users.

This MBAM Clean Removal Process contains detailed steps, best suited for retaining your product's license ID & Key and the hotlinks within the procedure download the very latest & authentic files.

If after following the above procedures you are still experiencing difficulties, I strongly encourage you to post a full trouble description here.

    HTH :)

Have a similar issue with v.1.75 in XP. MBAM has been there for years without issue until a week or 2 ago. When I click on the icon I can see it running in the task mgr, but the UI does not open on screen. Works without issue in Win 7.

MBAM Clean does cleanly wipe an installation should you encounter issues.

Read caveats before using and do keep in mind that all your custom settings and logs files would be lost in the process.

Well, that's exactly what I did. MBAM 1.75 would not load the UI in XP although the task mgr showed it running. Uninstalled, and tried to reinstall, but couldn't get it to do that. Downloaded and installed 2.00.0.0503 without a hitch, and UI loads fine. I think EMET, with it group policy rules, is affecting some programs in XP. What puzzling is that with the exact same setup in Win 7 I have no issues.

So I used the mbam cleanup tool and installed 2.0 because I didn't want to deal with that issue again. Scanned with full scan and regular scan and everything worked. Then I closed it up, and double clicked the app and it opened.

So, issue seems to be resolved...just not for 1.75.
