I've just performed a reboot and the message has gone. I'll tell the others to do the same and see what happens. I think we all tend to put our machines to sleep rather than turn them off, so maybe the message remains until then.

Sorry to have bothered you, I'll report back if any issues remain.

    Thanks :)

joe whats funny (well not really) is i get to the office this morning and i actually got 2 calls now from clients who are consumers not business and said they saw this pop up and called asking specifically how to turn this off. these 2 people are age wise mid to late 60's and early 70's and they hate stuff like this and want simplicity. they said it popped up and it made them think webroot found something wrong and they were infected or something like that. the first lady sent me a picture in a text telling me she thought she was infected i then had to explain she wasnt. but they asked me to come out and stop by to turn this off. i may have to remove webroot if there is no way to turn it off im sure these will not be the only 2 calls i get. people hate things that pop up like this. just being honest about it. most people want to turn on their computer and use it not have to close pop ups. if you want to make it so they can view the reports from the gui then its easy for one to open the gui and view the report and not have to have this pop up like that.

We're struggling with finding a balance between "no communication ever" and "too chatty" - right now, the security reports are just once a month to tell the user what has happened over the last month. Because threats are removed automatically, we have a lot of users say that we either aren't doing anything or that they think Webroot has been uninstalled. This minimal level of engagement is intended to affirm to the user that we actually are still active and installed. It may be worth having an option to turn the messages off but they come alongside the license expiration messages so it might take some work to configure end-to-end.

I'm definitely open to any suggestions here as we certainly don't want to become chatty like many other AVs, but we've received a massive number of complaints about being too quiet (so evidently, we can't please everyone).

LOL. The only time I want my AV to alert me is if it has discovered an infection, or the real-time protection has been disabled for some reason. I suspect some people want an AV similar to Homer's 'Everything's OK' alarm.

Presumably this was rolled out to millions of WSA accounts worldwide incrementally over many months and eventually reached the little old colonial roots in the UK as my Mac just threw it's first PSR this morning! ;)

I can understand it's a summary report but is there any other detail breakdown (say for example by device) other than interrogating each current device via Webconsol as I'm also trying to discover why it's registering 7 devices against a 5seat key code?
Not that I'm complaining as I've probably shuffled WSA activation across multiple boot images/volumes on a single Macbook testbed as well as beta key codes now expired.

    Just curious....

i also dont want anything except a infection found or a updated message. what about a small message one time a month in the very bottom corner saying "click here to see your monthly statistics" but have it so it goes away after maybe 10-15 seconds or something like that.

This is getting annoying. I'm just configuring a new pc for a customer & I'm installing Windows updates for them in my office. Every single reboot is giving that pointless message. It's not yet 9am & I've had 5 calls about this already from confused customers who think they are infected.

The reason my end users have Webroot is the lack of pointless popups. If they want popups, they can have Norton!

Just to confirm, this message is popping up on every boot.

I'll escalate this with the team now and see why it's appearing more often and what we can do about having it auto-dismiss. Also, could you send a screenshot of one of the messages if you happen to receive it?

    Thanks!
