I see your point. I prefer to keep my setup simple and SRP do it better than anything.

I understand that ERP is more complete and secure, but I prefer the simplicity. :thumb:

Moreover SRP (+ AppLocker +...) is a kind of DIY setup.

    It's always intriguing.

sure guys you may make fun of us those who are brave enough to try a lot of softwares even those that are buggy but at the end it help realize that if you don't try it you don't know it.i don't talk all about it here in the forum but I even malware test therm to see how they are improving etc etc,and not only just try them to see how they run for memory ram or cpu spikes.i am a beta tester and I really love to see programs progress sorry if that offends some of you or even if you guys take us as an example or to even laugh about us(those who change our signature very often)there is a reason why we do this, for example will you keep a program in your system that is not protecting you now and before it did protect you?it is out for sure people change so does softwares and how we know it is by trying them ofcourse, another example software get sold to other company and or it change theier licence method do you know what I mean?or software that is alive but soon get abounded or support is dying little by little will you keep it or move on?
note:if you need an advise look for trjam, securon or me :)

it is not that I enjoy it it is to prove or to make a point or experiment to see how or how much money is wasted because of all this :) and as far as I can see NOD32 and Kaspersky are the winners in my book also webroot is getting there but the malware detention is weak:)
one thing I can say is that a lot of security software acts worse than malware its self

When SRP/AppLocker is done in a path-based manner with admins excluded from rules, there is no ongoing maintenance at all, except if one runs into a program that has executables in non-normal locations.

I'll walk that statement back a bit. When using path-based rules, one should periodically audit folder/file permissions with Accesschk.

Got quick help from Webroot about a conflict with a game, so now WSA is back on. There's a small hit in browsing speed with CyberGhost, which seems a fair trade-off in return for tracking prevention.
