I also need multi-partition support, but for the time being I can afford to do some improvisation.

You may want to re-check the software from time to time, see if it has been made more suitable for your needs.

 

That's what I have been doing for the past six months or so, but I seem to be no closer now than I was then.

I hope you are not referring to the Realcopy home page, where the latest news is: "Realcopy Beta Coming 24th November!".

Here is a solution for you in the meantime--------

Use whatever you are using currently to create multi partition images and in addition use AX64 to protect your most frequently modified partition.......

Our focus is on AX64 - which will be getting multi-partition support soon (we are not going to give a release date, however). In addition, it will support XP.

With the last few releases of AX64, support tickets have reduced and have shifted towards feature requests and at the top of that list is multi-partition support!

 

I have been looking around for new tools to improve my backup regime for multiple machines and AX64 looks like it operates the way that I want, but it is missing the the multi-partition support, where previously it has been indicated that I would need realcopy.

I would like to go ahead and purchase this (my trial has expired) but I really want confirmation of that functionality (so I don't buy the wrong product and then have to buy something else).

Great idea. I already tried that in the past and so my trial period has expired. But now I cannot get AX64TM to accept my money ($39.95): there is no button to press and seemingly no way to proceed to checkout.

Norman is correct... no Checkout button, only a PayPal checkout available.

 

Thank you for that comment. In IE7, the PayPal button does not appear. I had to dig up an old Firefox browser to see it.

Norman... IE7? You really need to get that updated somehow... there's a lot of new web standards that will never show up in that browser.

Maybe an update of FF... or maybe Chrome.

 

Ax64 does not have multi partition support , but it will be a future feature in the next major release.

 

He is using XP, so maybe his choices are a bit limited

 

Your IMPship... both the current FF and Chrome support almost all of the innovations since IE7 (HTML5 being the main one), and they both run under XP.

But if he luvs IE7... whatever floats yer boat!

 

FYI, I just brought a 9 year old computer back from the dead, and it now has IE11 and FF26 running fine under XPsp3, 1GB RAM, Pentium 3 cpu.

 

Does that mean I need to hold off my purchase until that next release is available?

Unfortunately I cannot find any information on the AX64 web site about the upgrades:
- what happens if I buy it now and the next major release is a week later or a month later?
- if it is out of the range of any automatically included upgrades, what is the pricing policy for the upgrade?

 

IE 11 in XP, this I gotta see. Anyhow, still waiting for version 2.0 of whatever this awesome product will be called.

 

IE8 won't run on XP. I did try FF and Chrome (and Opera) but wasn't happy, so I decided to stay put.

Now there is a report that IE11 can run under XP, so I may look at it too. Thank you for your advice.

Norman, I'm not sure what your problem is but IE8 is running on all the XP systems I'm responsible for. That IE11 scare was just that... fairy dust

Are you running XPsp3 or an older service pack?

XP-SP3. I don't remember what the problem was at the time, but after seeing your post, I'll try IE8 again. Thank you.

My wireless mouse doesn't work in the recovery environment.
I've installed trial version 1.4124. Then I made the recovery media, an iso file. I burned the iso file to a dvd and booted it.
When I'm in the recovery environment I can't use my wireless mouse, this is a Logitech Performance MX. So I can't try a restore. My OS is Win XP.
