me im old fashioned and dont much care they want you they will get you

i found a mid to low firewall called comodo pretty good ratings and been using for some time and most of the fake attacks say ok not perfect but ok thats good enough for me

there most all good just allot started getting mem and cpu heavy

and allot of firewalls avg etc started taken hmmm umm family passed software out without asking warning and no ability to retrieve or reinstall

i use comodo simple reason easy exclude list and nags before taking your software

i wasted 9 dollars on peer block add on list i got this email from the maker of i block

[I provided you with the PeerBlock documentation that explains exactly what the button does.

And of course I asked you a question again and you failed to answer it.

Sorry but it is impossible to help you.]

wow my typing and communication skills suck a@@# but you own the company

wow owning a company you get idiots like me pushing for more detailed help

i hate peerblock and only use when downloading the new lists make it impossible to allow web sites like peer block instructions say it rolls to fast

i use malwarebytes also spytbot old e trust pest patrol old but still kills and finds allot others miss

    then just my router

i dont use Internet much just email most forums get mad at my typing so i dont use the computer anymore

i also use firefox with 10 or more add ons search engine scramble face book security wife likes that stupid thing so i got browser protection up the A

i only lost a pc one time a couple years ago

something nailed me and wiped out the drivers

had to wipe and reinstall good thing i have a terrabyte backup drive

other than that wow i cant remember when i was hit last

and i firmly believe it this new bullcrap Microsoft windows

i always ran xp pro rock solid and never a intrusion virus spy anything

now this vista and 7 8 bullcrap is when i got hit

    whatever to each there own

Hey Dumb Old Fart (no offense intended ;) ) welcome to Wilders. Interesting read. I don't know much about it, but I'd bet there will be some programmers keeping XP running, and others putting the computers together that can handle it.

I noticed how you cleverly chose two quotes for your signature that in their dichotomic juxtaposition challenge us to consider the inherent contradiction found in situational ethics.

Could you determine why Trend Micro was freezing your pc? I have used it several times and it's kind of heavy but never froze pc. It uninstalled quite smoothly every time.

Yes it's an overkill to use SRP and ERP. ERP is far superior to SRP. The only strongest point of SRP is that it's purely OS protection.

I don't see exactly why ERP is far superior to SRP. o_O

Both block executables, SRP don't need updates, license, several pop-ups, possible bugs etc.

I am not saying ERP is not better than SRP, I just want know in which aspect ERP is far superior.

If you didn't know already, J loves to try out different software and setups. It's almost a surprise if he stays with a setup for more than two days.

Could you remember what the error messages were about? I most commonly used to get error messages because of the tightening settings change I made in sbie. Little changes in sbie settings would remedy the error messages.

It's probably not because of their lightness, speed, effectiveness and combined power, is it?:D

The most but not the only one advantage of ERP over SRP is that it can manage running processes.

+ high level usability + lockdown mode (my favorite in all security apps :D) ...

I believe connoisseurs of ERP can say more.

    Oh I see.:)

LOL. Well he certainly doesn't let his system get lazy easily. Good thing J shares his experience of all the different setups with us in this thread.:)
