Using Chrome with Bitdefender Mobile Security

    &FWIW:
    Malwarebytes
    AppBrain Ad Detector
    Grey Shirts NoRoot Firewall

While not "Web" protection per se, one of these might detect surreptitious behavior or not-ruled connectivity of activity/downloads evoked while browsing.

These are GREAT applications. Thanks for suggesting them.. Using the APK downloader, you can load them onto Kindles quite easily.

Thank you for your suggestion. In the few past hours I surfed internet using Webroot SecureWeb Browser. Unfortunately it has a very poor graphics and page rendering. Furthemore, it is very slow on page loading and lacks some basic settings and features found in Firefox and Chrome for Android.

Webroot SecureWeb Browser more or less is comparable to "Trusteer Mobile" browser:
"With Trusteer Mobile, you can safely access online banking or ANY other website. The buit-in secure browser ensures you are accessing the genuine online banking site and not a fraudulent website" From Description of Trusteer Mobile on Google Play Store. Trusteer Mobile provides several awesome security key capabilities, but similar to Webroot SecureWeb Browser it has poor graphics and page rendering although it is better than Webroot SecureWeb Browser. For online banking I use Trusteer Mobile.

A new development made me to dump Google Chrome browser for Android in favor of Firefox Browser for Android.

Two days ago Electronic Frontier Foundation announced the release of HTTPS Everywhere for Android!

"EFF is bringing the security and privacy of HTTPS Everywhere to an important new frontier: your Android phone. As of today, you can install HTTPS Everywhere on Firefox for Android (until now, it could only protect desktop browsers). With HTTPS Everywhere installed, Firefox for Android encrypts thousands of connections from your browser that would otherwise be insecure. This gives Firefox a huge security advantage over every other mobile browser available today."

Now on my Android smartphone I have:

    1) Norton ConnectSafe DNS as the first layer of defense by blocking unsafe sites automatically.

    2) Firefox Browser for Android with HTTPS Everywhere and Adblock Plus extentions.

Migration from Chrome to Firefox lost me Chrome's built-in Safe Browsing system as well as Web Shield of avast! Mobile Security which does not work with Firefox browser. On the other hand, Firefox has a much nicer graphics, Fonts and better performance. This is not to mention the availability of a lot of Add-ons for Firefox.
