    On my android smartphone I use:

    1) Norton ConnectSafe DNS as the first layer of defense by blocking unsafe sites automatically.

    2) Chrome's Safe Browsing system which is introduced in the latest release of Google Chrome browser. It detects malicious pages and protects you from pishing, malware and harmful downloads.

    3) Web Shield of avast! Mobile Security that protects you against the risks that you are exposed to while browsing the web. This component integrates and works with Google Chrome browser not with Firefox browser for Android.

    I really appreciate if you could suggest me any web security features or tools am not aware of.

    I use basically the same configuration as the OP (OpenDNS rather than Norton's) but I add Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Android to the config as well; it is free and no paid version is available (as of now, anyway).

    @kdcdq

    Thank you. What I am more interested in is how to secure my android while I am surfing internet. For application and file security I use both AVL Pro and avast! Mobile Security. I did use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Android but it has not any web guard features.

    Mobile AV does not detect infected files unrelated to the "Android world".

    I just (as in the last 24 hours) tested 5 AV products for Android. I won't go into specifics, as it was a personal test with about 20 pieces of newer Android Malware. MOST of the products I tested did horribly. Which shocked - and saddened me - and the one I have been using did rather poorly... I won't even name them publicly as I do not want to have to establish my test protocol, and did not have it reviewed - just a personal test with some samples.

    The one thing I will say though.. MalwareBytes on Android is very good. :ninja:

    My hunch is (and I could be wrong);

    But most companies aren't taking Android security that seriously, and probably do not have dedicated teams pushing out signatures. Possibly no active search for threats, etc. Which may be why they seem to generally fail on newer threats. This is pretty discouraging to me.

    Some security pros claim Android AV's are utterly useless. I want to try some higher end products, like F-Secure, and see how they perform. As of right now most of them I tested seemed to be frivolous, feel good, relatively useless protection. :thumbd:

    I picked up a honeypot dedicated testing Kindle Fire earlier today, and will infect the hell out of it testing each AV individually after a fresh wipe of the device.. While I don't really care to publish results, I will post my opinion based on what I found personally - if that's OK.. Otherwise, I am doing this for myself, and my clients so I can recommend a product worthy of support, and not put my foot in my mouth like I already have with Android protection...

    If your daughter doesnt need anti-thieft or extra options like privacy guard... Dr Web Light is the best option. Very light and low battery usage.

    Ran some tests on a honeypod Kindle Fire.

    Sadly, results were not that encouraging for most products. MalwareBytes Android lit up like a Christmas tree, and successfully revealed all of the threats. I'm running MalwareBytes Mobile based on what I found, and at this point I have tested the majority of Android security products.

    We use the pro or paid version, so I imagine it has these other features. I haven't really checked up on it for awhile to see what features it actually has. She liked the lite version, then we went to the full version. Been good so far.

    How your results differs from, for example, these?
    http://www.av-test.org/en/tests/mobile-devices/android/nov-2013/

    Any common path or just completely different?

    Common path based on that list, since MBAM isn't listed, is ESET.

    My deployments are now (free)MBAM, (paid)ESET in terms of Android.

    And what about free ESET,AFAIK it's the same with paid version in terms of malware protection.Are you implying that their free version is deceiving the users?

    It is my understanding that the free version doesn't auto-update signatures on the Android. Has that changed? To me that automatically removes it from consideration in terms of free.

    As for other products, I don't want to comment - it makes me uncomfortable as I would then really need to start showing test methodologies, and specific threats. I don't want to do that, nor do I have time to do it. I am merely stating my 'opinion' based on personal experience.

    I run Avast! but for me the most important features are the anti theft ones, i consider the AV as a bonus. :D

    I see.Yes,it's true that it hasn't auto updates,but there's no difference between real time protection,malware detection and removal of the free and paid.I know because i have used the free version and about a month or so i won a license for the paid version and both of them are light and powerful.
