I have used Bitdefender Free and sometimes Hot Restores are frozen. It has helped to uninstall BD Free (It has taken only seconds) before restoring.

Hi Acadia,

do you mean you have disabled Auto Scan before doing a Hot Restore? And then Hot Restores are never frozen?

That´s better then uninstalling BD before Hot Restore.

Hello,

There is a new version on the beta section of the website, 1.4.1.23. Isso was on earlier today and I was waiting for him to post about it, but he did not. I have no idea of what any of the changes may be but I did upgrade. The upgrade install went smoothly and it seems to be running OK. I did create a boot-able USB rescue media and it did that successfully (Win 8.1 Pro x64 with MC). I have not however had the time as of yet to do a test of a hot and cold restore but hopefully will in the next day or so.

Sorry for not posting about release 1.4.1.23. This is actually the version that we are about to officially release, so I was waiting for our staff to publish it on the main page. Feel free to try it, it's stable and we'll announce it shortly.
Basically Win 8.1 support is complete, PE module reworked, local recovery environment added, and some bugs fixed.

Just tried latest beta 1.4.1.23 and had the same problem I had with beta 1.4.0.19, would not boot from local media (ssd drive) error - 0xc0000428, file Apisetschema.dll digital signature cound not be verified. So it's back to version 1.3.7 for me. windows 7, 64 bit

 

I keep Auto Scan permanently turned off, I prefer to do my scans manually.

I have the Asus Sabertooth Z87 and from what I can tell it's UEFI based and I can use the Recovery Media written to USB and the Local Storage Recovery Media, I also don't have any issues with my mouse.

Is there anyone that was unable to previously boot to a USB drive (black screen for me) using Windows 8.1 that is now able to do so using the beta 1.4.1.23?

 

Worked for my mate, but recovery failed in the same place as the previous beta.

 

Could you perhaps give a picture? It has the fancy graphical bios, I disabled the boot image though.

When I press F8 during boot (POST to be precise) it shows me the different devices I can boot from, there it lists my USB and also another entry for my USB with "UEFI" in front of it. If I start the one with the "UEFI" in front of it then it'll just launch Windows like normal as if I hadn't chosen anything, but if I choose the one without "UEFI" in front of it then it boots into the YUMI bootloader thingy and there I can choose AX recovery.

Edit: Just to give an example, if my USB was called "This is a USB" then it would have the entries "This is a USB" and "UEFI This is a USB" or something like that.

Edit 2: Also, I use the YUMI thingie because my USB doesn't show as a removable device hence I can't enter it in the AXTM recovery media creating thingy..

 

Your experience proved that the AX64 boot USB does not support UEFI boot.
I remember ISSO mentioned that AX64 solved this UEFI/Secure boot problem in their recovery media last year, so what happened to the current release?

 

It might not support UEFI boot but I'm still able to run it on a UEFI motherboard which I thought the statement was about?

Well I know at least when I enter the BIOS by pressing [Del] it says UEFI.

On x64 W7, definitely an ASUS(board) UEFI BIOS and system, for the first time ever since purchasing AX last summer (I think!) I booted from a recovery disc I made with v1.2.whatever. I'm using v1.3.0.7 now. It booted into AX but never turned on either the USB keyboard or mouse. So I'd have to use a PS/2 mouse but hot restores never fail anymore!
