I don't get flyouts on Chrome 31 or Internet Explorer 11 anymore. Uninstalling, installing the beta, and rebooting doesn't change anything.

How do I know if it's working or not? The GUI shows no alerts if that's relevant. Using Windows 7 64-bit.

    Hi J_L,

I'm still getting the flyouts here but I have changed the setting to only show 'Once per login session'. You haven't changed yours?

Nope, hence the re-installation. Tried changing it to "Once per login session" and logged back in, but no difference. hmpalert.exe is still running in the background as SYSTEM.

    Sorry mate!

I don't what the issue is. I just restarted my other system (also W7 x64) and the fly out showed on IE 11. I changed the setting back to the default and opened Chrome and the fly out showed up again.

    ... Over to Erik

    SOLVED - See below.

    Hello,

I have been having a problem updating on Server 2012. Version: HitmanPro.Alert 2.5.6

When it says a program update is scheduled to be installed at the next reboot...

After rebooting it gives this error in the windows error log:

The HitmanPro.Alert Support Driver service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

The HitmanPro.Alert Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

I am able to uninstall Alert and reinstall it and then it will say it will update when it reboots but it always gives the same error.

I have noticed that if I go to the directory in program files, it is empty.

    Ideas?

    THEORY:
Because I disabled programs from running from the Appdata folder (GPO to help with cryptolocker), this will prevent the update program from running after the reboot. (I did a search for the hmpalert files to try to solve the problem). The only problem with this theory is that other machines (win 7) with the same GPO seem to update fine. I will test when I next reboot.

    Solutions?
Change the directory for the update program to run from?
    temporarily disable the GPO?

Disabled the GPO for the server and the update completed. I will leave the info here in case anyone else encounters it.

hmpalert_update.exe isn't in my TEMP folder, unlike my test installation in VirtualBox. I don't think it's working properly.

Therefore uninstalled, my setup doesn't really need it and could be incompatible.

I am facing some issue with HitmanPro Alert (version 2).

I have been using HitmanPro Alert for a long time but suddenly HitmanPro.Alert start showing this message
    http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4883/cybq.png

I download Hitman Pro and scan my full PC but surprisingly Hitman Pro found only some tracking cookie. I delete those cookies but I found that still HitmanPro Alert giving same message.

So I decided to full scan my PC with BitDefender IS and MBAM Pro but again No infected file found.

But HitmanPro Alert still showing this message.

I think its a false alert. Anyone facing same issue ? Need some help to resolve it.

I have the same issue with HMPA2.5.6Beta, since a Bitdefender signature update came in yesterday at 20:00h.

Reinstalling Bitdefender solved the issue, until the signature update came in again.

The alert is showing in Chrome and IE on 3 PCs, running WIN7prox64 and WIN8prox64, Bitdefender-free 1.0.21.1099

Problem with uninstalling HmP.Alert beta .65. Something went wrong during install of .65. Can't find HmP.Alert in the installed program-list. But fligh out is still there when I open Firefox of IE11.

An update: successfully uninstalled via commandline and reinstalled HmP.Alert .65.

    Thank you.

Btw: Version .65 still autoupdates back to version .64. Can I disallow HmP.Alert connecting to the internet to prevent updating to an older version?

I am having the same issue with HitmanPro Alert as Swarup. I have upgraded from the stable V2 to the Beta V2.5 (and rebooted of course, there was no way to install newer version without rebooting after deleting older version) but the issue was still there. (The problem started yesterday and I am using Bitdefender Total Security and Malwarebytes and was using W7)

Today I've upgraded my OS to W8.1 and installed Bitdefender TS, MBAM and HitmanPro Alert v2.5 again. Too bad: the intruder alert is still there when starting a browser. So there is NO WAY that the intruder alert IS NOT a false positive. Until there's a fix for this I've stopped using HitmanPro.Alert :( but I'm pretty sure it won't take a long time before it will get fixed. :)

Yes I rebooted my PC but still problem exist.

I think there are some conflict between HitmanPro.Alert and BitDefender IS / MBAM PRO.

Hope you figure this out and solved this problem soon.

Feel free to inform me if you need any further information to solved this problem.

Bitdefender just recently pushed a product update to their users. This update includes a new code hooking/injection scheme. While Alert was extensively tested with various antivirus products, we cannot test Alert against unreleased products at the time Alert was released.

We have an update to Alert in the works that solves the incompatibility with the Bitdefender-update. A beta will be out shortly.

    Hope this helps.

So Bitdefender rolled out an version update, without changing the version ID...

Shame on Bitdefender, especially, as they cooperate with SurfRight.

BTW: Is Bitdefender AntiCrypoLocker developed by SurfRight?

I believe a component was updated. I dont blame Bitdefender, their update revealed a corner case in Alert that triggers the intruder alert
We have an update almost ready (need some more testing).

Bitdefender AntiCryptolocker is NOT developed by SurfRight. Their solution is entirely different compared to our CryptoGuard. CryptoGuard also blocks several other crypto ransomware families.

    Hope this helps.
