Suggest alternatives to "Acronis Disk Director 11" bootable media for UEFI/GPT system

For the longest time, I have been using an "Acronis Disk Director 11" boot cd to manage/delete partitions on my laptop hard drive.

Today, I'm working with a "MSI Canada GE70 2OE-002US" laptop that has a UEFI bios & GPT partitions. My "Acronis Disk Director 11" boot cd won't load on such a system.

So I would like to know if there is any other software with bootable media (cd/dvd) that can let me manage partitions on such a laptop (UEFI/GPT).

 

Try Parted Magic or Ubuntu Live CD 13.10 AMD64 versions and use the Gparted program included in these distros.
If you prefer paid software, use Paragon Hard Disk Manager x64 WinPE boot CD/USB.

Have you tried booting the CD with Secure Boot off and Legacy BIOS setting?

Brian's suggestion is a good workaround. When changing the bios to "legacy", it automatically removed the "Secure boot" setting. Then the Acronis Disk Director boot cd loads.

That said, it does seem like Disk Director has not been updated in a long time. So I thank the other posters for their suggestions. I will explore these softwares and return here if I have any observations.

Even when it was "new" it was a dubious partitioner. Best avoided.

Paul, have a look at BIBM. It is updated every month or two. You have to enable Legacy boot (for the session) for it to work but apart from partitioning you can run image/restore etc. It is compatible with GPT disks.

 

There is also MiniTool's Partition Wizard which is a very nice and easy partition manager.

Forget about it, its boot CD won't work with secure boot.
