No, I read the foreseeable future part also, that's why its part of what I quoted. Invincea bought SBIE one year ago. If they have retained Tzuks:cool: services for a whole year after purchasing SBIE, I don't think the word "foreseeable" means months in this case. But foreseeable future could mean months or years, we don't know, they don't know. Nothing is set on stone. For now, I think those words is all we should expect from a company after buying another company.:)

No Seahawks but Yes to the Pats. Old man, you know I am not as old as you but I am getting old. One thing that I got out of aging is learning not to get into the habit of looking too far into the future. Regardless what it is, if I can see clearly for the next few weeks or months, I am happy. Anyway, this is for you, my good friend from the great white North.

Imagine telling your wife on your anniversary that you love her, for the foreseeable future.
Or offering support to someone by patting them on the back and saying, "I've got your back for the forseeable future". ;)

Not a very good analogy I am afraid. The foreseeable future is obvious. If standalone sales of SBIE pay for it, they will keep it separate. If that doesn't happen the it will be bye bye.

You might call it an analogy, Pete.
I prefer to think of it as an exercise in imagination. ;)

Page, what they said earlier today is the best we ought to expect at this time. Expecting more (I think), its unrealistic. About the wife thing, I am on my Catherine Parr kind of wife. All for me ends with her.;)

For the record, I don't expect anything, Bo. I'm sharing what my impression is of what Curt said, or didn't say. In fact, as far as expectations go, what he said is pretty much what I would expect.

    @Bo.
LMAO. I've got that "old man song", Bo. thanx. Neil Young is a young "wipper snapper" compared to me. :D am older than him by 2 yrs.:argh:
As far as the games tomorrow, those are the four best teams left which is good. Each of those games could go either way.
Before I get accused of hi-jacking this thread, Bo, you should get an avatar like Page and I since were all on the same team. :thumb: The Sandboxie team.:D

Things are getting interesting now. We now know that Invincea have been running the show since January 2013, we know Ronen will leave during January 14 (suggesting part of the agreement was one year worth of effort on his part) and we know that the existing Invincea Freespace product and Sandboxie share the same core vitualisation code (which also explains the fundamental version 4 changes).

I always respect what Bo says and I trust what he says about Sandboxie and how to best utilise it but my cynical nature means I don't share his positive future outlook.

My current view is SBIE will be turned into very basic gateway product to Freespace. Their statement that they want bug reports especially security breaches suggests to me development will be centred on just that - patching holes. We all know much of the focus for SBIE development up till now has been around usability and compatibility for us 'lifers' and to make the product as accessible as possible to attract new customers. If all that changes now is to plug holes the product will become unusable to all but the few who use it on its own.

That whole 'plug the security holes only' approach makes sense from a business perspective, especially when the majority of 'paying' customers don't actually pay anything and haven't for some time. The more functionality gaps in the 'bottom tier' product the more attractive the upgrades seem.

You need your developers focused on what will bring in the cash. That will be ensuring their corporate products meet the needs of the paying customer and not pandering to the compatibility and usability issues for those who haven't needed to pay for some time.

Hope I'm proved wrong but its like watching a movie with that uneasy feeling you know the end because you've seen it all before.

The thought of a slow decline for this product is quite frankly depressing.

    Anyway...........

Additionally I would guess that people who have problem with games or program not working when installed in the Sandbox don't work they will be out of luck.

I think we're seeing that already. Lots of issues being reported but if the first Invincea only release is to be next week as suggested there is no chance of them being addressed. No new beta in 5 weeks and no posts in the beta forum for more than a fortnight despite us being in the middle of a beta cycle, but the release is imminent (?) Tzuk would have moved what he intended to address into the beta forum by know I'd think.

    Will keep watching and hoping.

Hi Chris, I see what you are saying but just yesterday I read someone asking if something that he likes to do with Sandboxie could be done. Right now what he wants, can not be done.
    http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=17833

But this is what Curt, the guy from Invinsea, said to him:
This kind of tells me that they are not only thinking about security breaches or fixing bugs. Personally, I prefer they don't add features, I don't want new features but I think what Curt is saying above shows that they are willing to "improve" Sandboxies usability.:)

Thanx for the update. I think will stick with version 4.06 for now though.

    Sandboxie version 4.08 released

    Released on 19 January 2014.

These are the changes to Sandboxie since version 4.06:

    Added support for SetCursorPos API.

Support for Immediate Recovery on Windows 8.1.

Fixed crash when Microsoft Chinese Pinyin IME is in use.

Fixed a problem with Chrome and LastPass on Windows 8.1

    Fixed a BSOD crash.

Added support for pasting bitmaps and metafiles from the clipboard.

Added support for the dynamic variant of \RPC Control\spoolss (from spoolsv.exe) that is introduced in Windows 8.1, to allow programs in the sandbox to print in Windows 8.1.

Added NACL.EXE and NACL64.EXE to list of lingering programs.

Fixed error SBIE2205 after installing Microsoft KB2898785 with IE10 and IE 11

    http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?VersionChanges

NOTE: If you go to All Versions at Sandboxie website (Download page and click on old versions at bottom of page) and click on

    64-bit SandboxieInstall64-408.exe you'll get SandboxieInstall64-406.exe...not 408.exe

If you click on 32-bit SandboxieInstall32-408.exe that's what you get.

UPDATE: 64-bit has been fixed . You now get 408.exe

Because 4.06 is working very well for me with windows 7 64bit. "If ain't/isn't broke, as of right now, no need to fix it". However, I did download the 4.08 version and have it at the ready if needed.

Thank you for info. Since v. 3.76 is running great, I will not update to v.4. Nevertheless I downloaded installer, if I ever decide to update.

Wolf, if you have IE10 or IE11 installed in your computer, you are probably getting a SBIE message 2205 every time you open the browser. This meaningless message (not an error) started bothering and confusing users after updating Windows in December. The message was eliminated in beta version 4.07.05 and its part of the fixes in stable version 4.08. If you are still on IE89, then you don't need the new version to get rid of the message.

You can always go back and forth with SBIE. If you install V 4.08 and don't like it, you can downgrade running the V 3.76 installer over the top.

Bo, that 4.06 message (with IE11) sure was a pain in the butt; hopefully it was truly meaningless!

Btw, would you know if Invincea simply re-issued 4.07.05 (beta) as 4.08 (final)?

With Sandboxie 4.07.05 Word 2007 would not work. Under Sandboxie 4.08 that problem is fixed. I think Invincea actually did some work without tzuk. I am sad that tzuk will not longer be the developer but Invincea will probably do a good job based on what tzuk said.
