Please stop it. 60 hours is too much.
    Then test with CrystalDiskMark please.

Did you change anything concerning the secure deletion scheme
in PrivaZer > "Advanced Options" > "Cleanup" tab ?

1 pass would normally take 1-2 hours max. (by default, recommended)
2 passes would take 2-4 hours
3 passes would take 3-6 hours
35 passes would take 35-210 hours !!!!:argh:

Everything is on the default, it's sort of working now, except on my laptop. It's been stuck at Cleaning #Traces in usn journal (33 %) for a few hours -- almost 5hrs -- now.

On the external drive connected to my desktop it appears to be doing what it should, however, even that has been going for almost 5hrs.

And you say it should be taking 1 - 2 hours!

    OK.
So please check "boost" checkbox and increase priority by clicking the "priority" label in the cleanup window.

I already have those at the maximum, which I did when I first discovered your software many moons ago!

The laptop has been running at over 8hrs, and I am not sure how many hours of that has been stuck at 33%.

I may be posting this in the wrong forum, but the different forums are confusing. Sorry if it's the wrong forum, but after running the PriavZer scan I saw the scan going after the Desktop shortcuts. If I run the clean. Will it delete all of the Desktop shortcuts? I don't want that to happen.
Thanks and sorry again if this is in the wrong forum.

    Hello,
PrivaZer removes only invalid desktop shortcuts.

    mlauzon, you should stop it
and let us perform a remote assistance.

All went well with the clean up, but it took six gig away from the drive. What may have happened there? I had 99+ gig and now 93.1
    Thanks

    Can We Discuss This?

I still have no idea about the background of the hyper efficient company called Goversoft located at 16192 Coastal Hwy, Lewes, DE 19958. From Google Street View, it looks as if the company got its offices in a house next to a firm that is in the trade of incorporating businesses in DE. Also, Goversoft uses godaddy.com. However, in whois.com, no reference is made to Goversoft, except for registrant e-mail GOVERSOFT.COM@domainsbyproxy.com. Whenever I try to highlight the transparency issue, I get ignored. As long as Goversoft cannot come clear with the transparency issue, I do not trust this software. Sorry for using this word; it may sound harsh but I got a feeling that Privazer is snake oil. Why all these detours for registering the website? Why never first and last names of employees? Why? Why? Why?

    Hello Haggishunter,

    that's funny...
We are an international team of experienced professionals working in different companies. Personally, I do not want my boss to know that I develop another software in my spare-time, even if I'm free to do what I want.

We have people working for PrivaZer mainly in US, UK, France. Don't imagine we are sitting together around a table during the work hours... :argh:

We preserve users privacy, we also preserve our privacy.
We offer PrivaZer for free, we would prefer to have your support...

And please, look also in the whois database for ccleaner.com and piriform.com or try to find the names of the founders... Please...

    West_co,
    1. please check the size of your c:\pagefile.sys
Sometimes it is resized by the system.

    2. Install TreeSize Free
Run it as admin and try to find where files occupies space

    3. Contact us here : support@privazer.com
    We will investigate for you.

That can also be caused by new restore points/system snapshots.

Why do you think that raising doubts about Privazer is funny? I know the details of the founder of Jetico (BCWipe) as well as the first and last names of Jetico support personnel. I know, it is not freeware, but still... Why do you need to preserve your privacy? Why that smoke screen? If we look how Truecrypt is being questioned all the time? In your opinion, is it not legitimate to know, who provides software I use?

    I understand.
As previously written, I don't want my boss to be informed that I can spend my nights working for PrivaZer...

I did a restore point before and during the cleanup. I really wouldn't mind, but I have Linux running on another partition, so all together my drive is small to begin with. If all of the other options with PrivaZer works. I'll settle with that.
    Thanks

Remove regularly your oldest restore points when no longer needed to recover free space

Cleaning all of the restore points, but the last gave me another 1.4 GB which gives a total of 94.1. Still 5.2 short of what it was. I can't do anything about it now, so I guess it's going to have to do. Just another wonderful pleasantries of the wonderful world of Windows. That's why I stay on my Linux side more than Windows. Sure wish you at PrivaZer would come up with a version like this for Linux Mint.
    Thanks
