Yesterday I managed to install Comodo AV and it really looks to be pretty solid. I've unchecked sandbox but I'm using HIPS (Safe Mode) and also clould protection is disabled since I dont want to send any files to Comodo for analyze.

Let's see how it will work for a few weeks and then I can say will I keep it or not. For now it looks promising.

ps. And memory usage is insanely low (15-18 megs in total).

The cloud system is not only composed of sending new unknown files...
Cloud lookup (=hash checking) is quite important and disabling it will affect the whole protection system...

The Cloud and especially the sandbox are very important features of comodo.

Well, last time i checked, that part wasn't even working. And it has been so for months basically. And when i complained over it after waiting months, i got banned. That's how serious are about the quality.

I have to agree with you here.

8 pages and have been experiencing this issue since June now.
Some users tested it with V5 and it did work correctly, this seems a complex issue, I really want it to be fixed as it affects a lot of users....

That's the way Comodo is, even though I can say I'm in love with their product, I really hate their attitude. They only apreciate praise, not criticism.

To the original poster, I've been using Comodo for years and I've been trying its AV from time to time. I can say that up to now, is not really worth it (too heavy on my I5 and 6 gigs of RAM), but definitely, the Firewall IS.

You don't get banned for what you say it's how you say it. I understand how you feel when it takes a long time for issues to get fixed but being disrespectful and rude doesn't help issues get fixed faster.

    At the OP:
Cav is pretty strong and has improved greatly over the past year or two. I use cis on my gaming computer without any problems but I know how to configure defense + to work with my gaming setup. If you need help with configuration let me know.

Only thing disrespectful is that they are playing such massive ignorance. I've reported this bug like ages ago (and apparently i wasn't the only one). And after re-checking if it got fixed, of course i was freakin furious to see that they haven't done ANYTHING to resolve it in several months. And that's a whole backbone of their system. If that doesn't work, their whole D+ is one worthless pile of code.

I've noticed a traditional pattern with Comodo.

    - complain over something
    - Comodo fanboys come in and start praising how awesome CIS is and no matter that it's full of holes like Swiss cheese
    - you return to complain again after several months because they haven't done anything
    - more fanboys come in and do the same as first time
    - get banned because you're persistent and you don't run away scared the first time fanboys try to get rid of you

It has been like this pretty much ever since i can remember, basically every single time.

Looking at this thread with 8 pages.
    http://forums.comodo.com/format-ver...-when-uplding-large-file-v6m471-t94425.0.html
Now tell me where do you see a fanboy like comment. I don't see any, you must be wrong right ?
Slava had told us that the issue should be fixed, "should" means yes or no, this is a problem with CAMAS servers, I got confirmation a week ago, and are trying to fix it...Now I'll wait until you point out some fanboys comments on this particular thread.

Ahhh! I have seen this problem last year. Didn't know it was still unresolved.

"should be fixed" implies that the devs believe that the problem is resolved while acknowledging that there may be circumstances under which it might still occur.

However, here it says that Slava says it "would be fixed". This is an expression of intent, not a statement of resolution.

So, 5 months and they aren't even sure if they fixed it. That's reassuring, i mean trusting a security company with such level of confidence...

Yea it seems they cannot fix it, this seems to be a complex issue for them to take sooo much time!

And the malware will patiently sit around and wait for CIS to get fixed. Lol? If it's a complex issue, fine, i give them a week, maybe two. But several months? C'mon. Some companies create whole new quality products in this time, not fix a tiny (but important) bug in a backbone system.

As you can see here detection is still being added
    http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/updates/vdp/database.php
Number of Definitions Added Today: 41671.
Most of installations are still on V5 that may be the reason.

I don't care if detections are still being added. The system is broken and it's spitting out error whenever i want to upload a file to Comodo.

File submission bug does not mean you are not protected.
They use other sources to harvest files.
    But it is irritating.

If i recall correctly egemen did state that this was not a priority fix and that files can be submitted via the forum while a permanent fix becomes apparent.

The full protection of comodo is still there but the uploading of files is a low priority problem.

The main problem is, nothing is ever of high priority for them from my experience... Why would i constantly have to submit files through their forum (and additionally have to upload it somewhere else) if their program could do that on its own?

    http://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-cis/comodo-internet-security-633020932976-released-t99802.135.html

BTW, you know what they say about doing the same thing over and over again...

The same applies to asking the same question over and over again.:p

  24. Banned could also be temporarily, politer to ask first

No kidding, who just randomly appears out of thin air and screams liar over the issue of a completely different forum? :D That forum hands out bans like candy on Halloween, so it isn't exactly shocking that you're back to posting in a week or two. Forget the product, the way they handle customers on that forum is enough to convince you to stay away from the product. Also, if you have to keep asking for a bug to be fixed or any issue to be resolved, I don't think that is the customer being a problem. I think that's a pretty good indication you don't give much of a care what your customer thinks or much about your product.
