I sure got that feeling when no one bothered to check the actual problem, but they were insanely persistent trying to force me to correct my bug report into their lame format. So, there's that conclusion.

Comodo is a great product no matter what the haters say. I have used every product out there and nothing gives 100% protection.

    Is AV-Test biased?

Add untransparent and incompetent to that:

    - We never learn if AVT execute the missed malware (I think it must be the case), or how many of them.
    - Removal tests have been abolished.
    - G-Data 2014 somehow always manages to worm its way into 6/6s while it's average at best on AVC even considering user-dependent detections.
    - The performance test (none of them are good anyway, but that one even "outdoes" them by pegging Eset, Avast, eScan etc. as extremely heavy).

Maybe Comodo is really that great, but they still come off as hypocrites...

    Code:
    http://www.av-test.org/en/test-procedures/test-modules/protection/
Last three real world test by AVC says otherwise if you consider user-dependent detections G-DATA averages about 99% which isn't even close to being average.

The link only suggests every kind of detection during the test will be counted, but not how many of them are exes.
    + another oversight
If the AV detects it after the malware has already messed with the system, AVC consider it a miss unlike AVT, and rightly so (the PDF was locked, so I couldn't copy the relevant text here).

Good stuff, but there are only hours left for all of us to welcome 2014 and there still isn't one.

To be fair, it's not just the "Comodo fanboys" who serve to derail these threads...

    You're right.
I would give it a go, try it for a couple of weeks.
If there are no issues with your machine it's a keeper.
Just be careful while installing, choose custom installation
so you're not burdened with useless crap.
Afterwards choose your settings, I advise
to turn Sandbox off and HIPS on.
Also create an account at the forums, according
    to RejZoR you'll have fun.

You can have an idea about the number of executables from opening the link of the single product in test reports.

About messing up the system part, read the link i provided before carefully, AVT says the same thing about their procedure:
I'm not sure why there aren't any tests readily available about repair performance but if we were to believe what they say, the test are coming.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
I loled at the comodo fanboys derailing thread part awesome joke, I can't even count the number of praising posts in the topic

Back to the original topic, comodo's av component have gotten a long way from wtf is this to quite decent imo. I'm pleased with it especially when i use the full suite. The only problem for me is the updates taking a little long.

    Btw happy new year people.

Like others have suggested, try CIS 6.3 for a while and see if you can live with the way it works.
I've used it many times but usually end up preferring something else.

As for the RejZoR factor, he has been known to be blunt and abrasive about aspects of both Avast and Comodo about which he is dissatisfied :D
Let me just say that there does seem to be a difference between the two, in their response to his 'constructive criticism'.

Peel away all the BS surrounding Comodo and you will find a very capable security program that has a yearly cost of $0. Just ignore the fanboys and the haters and move on with your life knowing that it will be very hard to infect your computer unless you do something really stupid.

Look at what comodo offers for free..Its a superb application and it keeps the bad guys out of your computer.

The only gripe i have with it is it doesnt offer a pure firewall on its own without HIPS etc.

    Yaaay...! Another mad festival. :D

I would suggest the reverse, actually. Or put both on and set the HIPS to clean PC mode.

For less popups and robust security I offer to set:
    HIPS: Clean PC
    AutoSandbox: Untrusted
    FW: Safe Mode

    In settings:
HIPS - have unchecked "Verbose alert mode"
FW - set alert frequency to "Very Low"

And of course it has "game mode".

The firewall/HIPS/sandbox combo is good enough on its own to protect your system imo.

For those who haven't come across any malware in years, CIS may be considered overkill. Comodo Firewall, although lacking the AV module, has a Cloud AV component which is a suitable replacement with no system impact.

Also, please note that the detection rate for Comodo AV has declined a bit over the past few months; as I have zero contacts at Comodo I really can't say why. But no matter, the bulk of the anti-malware work is being done by the Sandbox which is quite nice.
