    Hi taleblou,

After some testing, it may not be advisable to use ToolWiz Time Machine and SecureAPlus together.

We have tested on Windows 7 SP1 32-bit based on the following scenarios:

    1. Install ToolWiz Time Machine before SecureAPlus. We encountered some chkdsk issues several times.

    2. Install ToolWiz Time Machine after SecureAPlus. Although the issues caused are less critical, some of the SecureAPlus settings cannot be restored even when we have snapshot the system. For example, if we set the background initial whitelist speed to "Fast" and create a snapshot of the system. When we restore it, the speed goes back to the default setting, "Slow".

    Hope this answers your query.

    Cheers,
    sinlam

I can not login to my existing beta account.
    Have you deleted old testers?

Hi siketa, sorry but we have changed the login logic and the database configuration. So previous beta testers need to register again this time round but don't worry, only for this time. For subsequent beta programs in future, you don't have to register again.

    Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Hope to see you in the beta :)

I like this program, but it needs a license manager. After getting a perpetual license, if the user formats the system, then he loses the lifetime license. That's the only thing stopping me to continue using this product.

No actually you can email them your securage id you get after you install an then they can help you reactive your license I think. It's quite the hassle so I support you.

Totally agreed guys ;) We will keep this in mind.

Here's another chance to get a life-time license for free. You can join the upcoming SecureAPlus Beta 1 or SecureAPlus Beta 2.

    Cheers,

I just noticed I had downloaded your program at the end of October. I had forgotten all about it. I get caught up testing other betas.

I have installed and it is building a whitelist as I post, but it sure takes long time. I just hope I am not whitelisting any baddies. ;)

Also, I have just signed up for the new beta.

You can increase the speed a bit by increasing it's priority. Yes, it will take a while to whitelist all the files on your computer but they are working to improve on that.

You may want to change the priority to high CPU. Even in that level it took me around 2 hrs to whitelist entire system. Good thing is I dint notice any system impact in high, I was watching a movie as well.

Thank you...both! I did notice that could change the priority, but that was the default so I just let it stand fro the time being.

However, shortly after making my post above, my system CPU maxed out at 100%, which caused my computer to freeze and become unresponsive. I had to force a reboot and restart.

The install has lead to my startup to take over 4 minutes, instead of the usual less than 2 minutes. I hope I can adjust this, so my startup can be better.

Hi Tarnak, sorry for the delayed reply. Are you still facing the slow boot up?

The 100% CPU usage may be caused by SecureAPlus or other software or a combination of SecureAPlus and other software. As of now, we can't really comment what has happened unless we have more info or able to reproduce it from our end.

As for the slow startup, the following reasons may contribute to it:

    1. There may be several startup programs running.
    2. It depends on how big are the startup applications.
    3. It depends on how big are their dll files needed by the startup application.

SecureAPlus, most of the time, will not take up so much time. But it does need to read the whole file (exe or dll), to calculate and compare the whitelist.

If you have just installed SecureAPlus, It may potentially take longer time as most of the files are not whitelisted yet. When you first startup SecureAPlus, it will whitelist the files on the fly. It will also extract the digital signature of the files and put it into trusted certificate list. Before putting it into the certificate list, it will validate with the OS and so on.

Hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you need further clarification.

    Cheers,
    sinlam

I can confirm this. I did not face any slow boot up in my machine. You maybe having other applications which conflicts or lot of startup programs.

    Hi sinlam,

Thank you, for that reply regarding my situation.

I have two snapshots, only one of which has SecureAPlus installed.

When I switched back into the snapshot that has your software installed, it once again took much longer than it does for the snapshot, that does not have it installed.

I am a little busy to reboot, now, but I have a program that will allow the delay of the start of your program, at boot.

I will get a better idea, later when I have time to reboot, and then I will see if that helps.

    Sinlam,

This maybe a dumb question. Can SecureAPlus protect from exploits ? Its not mentioned anywhere in the website about protection from exploits.

    Hi KaptainBug,

    Good question ;)

There are many types of exploits and whether SecureAPlus can protect from the exploits depend on the approach in carrying out the exploit. But usually, after entering the user's system, the exploit will drop an exe file and when the attacker tries to execute it, SecureAPlus will block it automatically if it is in the Lockdown Mode or prompt the user whether to trust it if it is in the Interactive Mode.

Hope this has clarified your doubt.

    Cheers,
    sinlam

Well, after a bit of tinkering, I got it perform a little better...but not significantly.

I delayed the start of your program, and tried some other adjustments to improve the system start.
