    Hi there,

Just one question. Did you try to boot into AX64 from the created bootable usb?

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

I got a BSOD after rebooting after install:

    Stop 0x0000007F (0x00000008, 0x807C6750, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

    2nd reboot worked ok....so far.

Edit: the BSOD is repeatable, but only happens if I log into Windows quickly after reboot (i.e. enter my password as soon as the Windows login screen appears). If I wait until my hardrive light goes quiet (20 seconds or so), I can then log in with no BSOD.

    Hi Axdev

Thanks for the heads up on this. I am assuming by what you say that if v1.4.0.18 is working for you (I am running Win7 64bit) then there is no real need to upgrade to v1.0.4.19? Or is there also something in the latest beta that would benefit non Win 8.1 users?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Regards

    Hi Denis,

Question! How do you plan to upgrade the "Local Recovery"?

Does one need to on each new version uninstall and then reinstall the "Local Recovery"?

Therefore, to have the latest version of "Local Recovery" during bootup?

Where are the files kept for the "Local Recovery", presembly in "C" but which directory?

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

This problem depends on the installed drivers. I would advise all users to upgrade.

    Hi Dennis

Thanks for the prompt reply. Downloaded and about to be installed/upgraded.

As Mohamed asked, does the recovery media CD/Local need to be upgraded also?

    Regards

Update only manually, automatic updating might not be working. Press uninstall and then install.

    C:\Recovery\{GUID}

    Hi Denis,

Sorry to report it still doesn't boot. It does create the Recovery Media like v1.4.0.18 but it still doesn't boot like v1.4.0.18.

Both v1.4.0.18 and v1.4.0.19 create Recovery Media but both don't boot.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

    Hi Andylau,

Yes, AX64 can backup on WinRE. The problem lies with Microsoft that in Windows 8.1 (only effects Windows 8.1) they removed two files, thus no WinRE Recovery Media could be created in Windows 8.1.

This was first reported in IFW thread, and a workaround was found. We applied the same workaround on AX64 v1.3.0.27.

Now, the good folks of AX64 are trying to resolve this problem in Windows 8.1. As I have reported above both their newest builds v1.4.018 and v1.4.0.19 can now create WinRE Recovery Media but it doesn't boot.

However, Recovery Media created on my machine with Windows 8.0 does boot in all Windows 8.1 machines.

Leave to Microsoft to remove couple of files in Windows 8.1 for creating WinRE, whether this WinRE is for IFW or AX64.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

    Hi Denis,

    Can you be more specific?

Do you want to be make a zip of C:\Recovery and send you?

OR, do you want me to send you the zip of Recovery Media created on my machine?

BTW, I still use the EasyBCD method of "Local Storage".

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

    Hi Denis,

I am going to try something, and if it works I will report it in this thread. If not then I will upload it to your site.

Would the new build help any with the mouse not responding with UEFI Bios mother boards?

    Or the raid 0 issues.

    Hi Denis,

I am happy to report that it worked. I still need to try on other Windows 8.1 machines. The culprit seems to be Image For Windows (IFW).

I replaced the WinRE.wim with an old Windows 7 version. It tried to boot and then gave me BSOD. Same happened with WinRE.wim of Windows 8.0.

Basically, IFW embodies (if one wants to) in F8 menu on boot, thus altering the WinRE.wim. So, I used this altered WinRE.wim and it seem to work. However, didn't encountered any such problem with Windows 8.0, where IFW is also embodied in F8 menu on boot.

I will do some more testing and then report.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

When I was experiencing the frozen keyboard and mouse it was because of Malwarebytes Pro. The desktop looked normal but there was no functionality. I changed Mb's service to delayed start and all has been great. Someone, perhaps even you, discovered that security software may be the culprit. I post this in case it wasn't you!

Security Software shouldn't affect the Recovery Environments. This was where I had the trouble.

I just got thru installing 1.4.o.19 exe. , started to run it, comes up RealCopy Restore . It starts and seems forever to finally bring up the restore page. I don't think Isso had this in mind . They are trying two systems to work. Any one else had this problem.
