Just put Tails on a USB stick, it took a little doing but its the complete OS. Tried to install it directly to the stick but that didn't work, had to burn it to a DVD and then move it to the stick thanks to the directions from the people at the Tor Project. Has a certain feeling of security attached to it, for those that want to try it its worth the time to install it.. all 916 MB
Hello hogndog: For a year or so, I've been using the Universal USB Installer (UUI) from http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ to make my TAILS on a USB stick. UUI also downloads any of dozens of other systems too. UUI is quite careful to protect you from yourself too. HTH
Hello firefox2008: TAILS does use the same secured/encrypted TOR network. Just like with the TOR-Browser-Bundle (TBB), you may change your identity (geographic exit), on the fly, any number of times. I hope this answers your question.
i might as well use this thread as well , ive got an issue with tails 0.22, ive decided to try it out again in hopes of my mouse issue with previous iterations would be fixed , thing is when i boot it from the dvd or usb thumb drive , well , it boots up ok , once im in the OS after its initial loading process , i notice that after a certain amount of clicks or is it time that tails will not react to my mouse clicks wich would be like about 2-3 minutes if at all , sure i can still move it around but thats it no matter how ferociously i click i dont get any response from the OS whatsoever really, for example i try to mount a truecrypt volume as soon as i select the scroll bar to scroll down the mouse clicking magically has no effect , this goes for about anything not just truecrypt thou, be it a random message window or whatever thing with stuff to click on , and only keyboard input is possible wich is not a desired result , nor hardly usable in any way , is it because i use a usb mouse or what , it boggles the mind , help please , thanks
Hi happyyarou666, If you use a usb mouse/keyboard combo or just a usb mouse, it likely has a battery in it. When is the last time you changed its battery? -- Tom
I have a laptop, but use a USB mouse in preference to the Trackpad. I doubt that a failing battery is the problem as the mouse would be a pain to use....period! (it does work OK on your system, doesn't it?) Can't help you happyyarou666 I'm afraid – my Tails is outdated (021) but I can't duplicate your issue – even after turning down all the mouse settings within Tails – my mouse still works perfectly.
well ive did some experimenting around and found out that if i unplug and reconnect the mouse the mouse clicks work , for a set amount of clicks , then i gotta do the same thing over again , it seems tails dont like my usb mouses firmware perhaps , btw my usb mouse is not battery powered its wired not wireless
