    Greets again. EASTER here.

I don't have a definitive answer to that particularl Q? THESAW,but of note on this end anyway, this is been the absolute longest period for using any AV for me and that includes the likes of market leaders like Kaspersky, Symantec, Eset etc.

A firm HIPS advocate, this Qihoo 360 is bowled me over from the start and is still maintaining a solid return of complete satisfaction backed up with proven continuous results.

I only wish they would lift the lid off of the Proactive Defense module and allot users a choice to also preselect both individual file and registry (fine tune rules) for that particular mode of security.

But nonetheless it's AS IS a very responsive and lite AV with 3 Way passage detection.

    EASTER

They're talking about program updates, not database updates. There's a new option that says "Automatically update virus database and program."

Oh, thank you! I thought it already did that. This is a good addition nonetheless!

It seems its 360IS sandbox still need its kinks to work-out. Still sandboxed browsers do not run smoothly. Only if they fix and make the sandboxed browsers more responsive and better then 360IS would rock.

Also 360IS needs to add folder and drive sandboxing ability like sandboxie. For example I like to keep sandboxed my download folders as another layer of protection or open USBs in sandbox.

Is anyone using this product in a small business environment? I don't see on their web page whether or not this product is allowed to be used for free in a small office (no network).

As Qihoo360 does not come in a centrally managed package, every computer, whether in a private residence, small business or corporate environment, would need its own individual installation. So basically there is no differentiation as to where the product is used; user compliance with the software agreement is just one installation on one computer.

Also keep in mind that this software has morphed into a loss leader for Qihoo. It currently exists to draw people to use the Qihoo browser which leads to the use of the Qihoo search engine from which the bulk of Qihoo's revenue is derived.

I just received a reply from 360IS saying their program can be used in business environments for free without any issue.

Has anyone else gotten some possible false positives lately? I scanned each file with Virus Total and HMP but they cam back clean.

    Scan results
    ======================
    Virus scan results
    ----------------------
C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe It is recommended to prevent auto run applications. Unresolved
    C:\Windows\system\ver.dll File tampered Unresolved
    C:\Windows\System32\ver.dll File tampered Unresolved

The files have a date of 2011 or prior. There were no alerts for them until after the last update. I think 2011 was when I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, if that means anything.

acr, I was getting that first FP every single day for a week! MBAM and VT didn't confirm the 'infection' so I replaced 360 with avast-free and a full scan with avast finds my system to be 'clean'.

I'm glad that I learnt existence about "Qihoo 360"

Did anyone feel like me? I felt that "Qihoo 360 IS" seems to be more
attractive than "Bitdefender free edition". Since they've bitdefender's
virus engine+Kingsoft AV-like source script that means they're already overall about:
    - bitdefender virus engine+self virus engine
    - usb protection<<< not much free av provide this.
    - web protection
    - and they've their very own Sandbox
Even Qihoo 360 users start to demand firewall from them. :D

But the more thing that I'm shocked is.....
Qihoo 360 Have free a huge cloud storage space service!!!
I wonder when will Qihoo teams made english zone for this storage space.
I'm looking forward to their development.

Nice GUI, but 360 uses an older Bitdefender engine which may be one of the reasons it didn't get a decent real-world protection score from A-V Comparatives. :thumbd:

Weird, it was doing fine in the entire first half of this year, but has fallen behind ever since. :( Do you mean they stopped updating its BD engine between June and August?

The number and nature of AV-C's test cases are changing/evolving with each new test. Also, BD doesn't make their latest scanning technology available to 3rd party products such as 360 (it's not even made available to BD's Free AV)!

I thought almost all of them get its whole engine and signatures unless they choose not to (like Emsi & FS and maybe even 360 modifying/stripping it(?)), but their scanning modules can't use them all effectively for some reason, so it doesn't necessarily mean Qihoo has poor detection. There can simply be design problems with its web filter or real time scanner even though it might be capable of detecting the same malware in some circumstances.

anyone uninstall this and see that the 360sandbox was left behind? Is there a way to safely remove the 360sandbox now?
