Wow, MBAM 2.0! How long ago did 1.0 come out? Also, I like the new GUI.

It used to be 50 and so those users are grandfathered-in.

MBAM 1.00 came out on January 21, 2008. Forever ago, eh? :)

We'll look into some ways to optimize it as well!

Also, I note that I am running live with MBAM.

However, I normally run MBAM as an on demand scanner only.

I have been lampooned by some of my fellow Wilders' members for running to much security software. ;)

Thanks! Still pretty high though. When will it go public? I want to try it soon.

Downloaded and installed over existing public release version. It did not accept my key had to use the one on the MBAM forum. Installation went fine. Updated and ran a "Hyper Scan." Nice looking GUI. Have not tested the upfront protection yet. Wondering if the rootkit scan in this new MBAM replaces MBAR?

    Thanks for the reply.

    Suddenly I feel old. :D

Yes, I have been a licensed user since 2008 & have no major issue so far (that's why I seldom post in the official forum).

I will definitely try out MBAM 2.00 Beta.

This may be a silly question but if I purchased a lifetime license will that continue once version 2.0 is released?

Now read the post #11 again.
    We will continue to honor....

And if so, will MBAR nevertheless continue as a standalone product?

Unless MBAM becomes a full security solution, hard to justify $25/year.

What about MBAE? They could add it too.

I can only refer to Swex's post, with which I fully agree.

Agree or not, it is not a full security solution.

Arguably, neither is your antivirus, so there's most definitely a place/need for MBAM as an extremely effective secondary layer of defense...

AVs deal with viruses, MBAM doesn't. Using MBAM real-time introduces compatibility problems with AVs. If you don't mind two products running real-time, that's your prerogative.
