I find it rather amusing that Android can't activate its alarm when the phone is turned off while Symbian and feature phones can do that without a single problem.

Galaxy Note 2 here, and ATM,no intentions to replace it.....a short while ago,I bought even an extended battery and rugged case from ZeroLemon because I wanna keep it for a long while.
Best smartphone I owned so far!!:thumb:

What do you mean by "turned off" ? o_O If you mean a real shutdown, that's very impressive that a Symbian device can boot itself....:D
From standby mode,I get every alarm notification that I configure, even in power saving state.

Yes with the phone turned off. My Nokia Symbian phone would power on to sound the alarm and give you the choice of leaving the phone powered on or turning it off again. Actually this used to be fairly standard behaviour for mobile phones, and was good because you could turn the phone off before you went to bed to save battery power and still be woken up in the morning.

It's a shame that the "smartphones" can't do this.

One of the few Blackberry faithful left here! Still hooked to my Bold 9900, the best phone I've ever owned.

Having said that, I'll be moving away from BB next year as the company collapses  I'm looking at either a very good Android, or opting for an iPhone, which I know I wouldn't regret :p

I have researched a lot about smartphones and I think the best option money wise is nexus 5 at this moment. I like Sony phones as they are compact and waterproof but I don't like their GUI.

Oppo phones look stunning as well.

I am early waiting for a real Ubuntu phone though.

They make Extended Batteries for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. However, an extended battery adds significant thickness to the smartphone.

I would get a Google Nexus 5, but I am still 'hung up' on it having no microSD card slot and the battery not being removable.

When i started using the phone i found it too big but now i am comfortable with it , although my next phone will be max 5 inches , its difficult to use note 2 with 1 hand

Yes, you are right but every phone has some pros and cons actually.

I have a 5" phone currently, and I (surprisingly) never find it to be too big and may get a larger phone soon.

First Android phone was Samsung Galaxy S then got a Galaxy S3.

Next one won't be a Samsung, they make great hardware which they then cripple with their bloated version of Android & Touchwiz skin & apps.

Upgrade due in the summer so was thinking of getting Nexus 5 but I really need SD card support which Google doesn't provide.
