The update is rolled out to users over a period of time. "Check for Updates" will not get you the update quicker.
You can download the update from your Webroot account if you don't want to wait.

Great to see auto clean-up of old roll-back data implemented - I have few if any gripes with WSA left - Thanks!

So, a question from a WSA newbie. If "Check for Updates" won't get you an update, why is it there?

Second newbie question, when a new version is released, is it automatic or do I have to download and install it? If I have to do the later, how do I know (if I didn't read about here at Wilder's)?

Do you first point - I suspect it to be a remnant of the "old school" thought of AV updating. They just included to to remind you that everything is already updated due to the cloud process.

On your second point - everything is automatic. When an update is released it takes the odd day to rollout across the base. You can speed this up by just downloading the latest version though.

Have you tried a clean reinstall of Chrome with a reboot in between I have seen some do that and it worked so hopefully it would for you?

OK you are still on the old Web Shield I don't know why you got some of the New Web Shield in the last post but you will know when your keycode has been added to the New Web Shield channel as the browsers will ask to install the Extensions in IE, Firefox & Chrome are only supported at this time.

Do you see these folders and txt files?

Yup, all I'm missing is the "Sync" folder:
*Sorry, I sent the wrong license to Joe. It was a trial I was going to try on my virtual machine.

If someone disables auto-updates, they would need to use the Check for Updates button. We took it out a while ago and there was considerable confusion because users expect to see it, so instead, we just added a message when clicking on it that they don't need to use it.

Auto-updates, if enabled (which they are by default) will come down over the course of a couple days after a new release goes out and you'll receive them without any user interaction.

Is this referred to the WRData folder?

That's great. Got my WRData shrink to 9.8MB from 3GB after this latest update.

    1. I also have received the update.
    2. My WRData folder actually increased to 1.58 GB! (I just checked after I did a scan with the new update.)
    3. I've actually been working with WSA support for over a week about this issue. I sent in my last log file 2 days ago; however, this time they had me go into "advanced settings" and send a log of the entire WRData folder.
    4. I'm still waiting to hear back from support what the next steps are, if any.

In Reports and Protection Statistics how are these things monitored. How much is Disk I/O and Memory used.

Memory/disk is very light. The protection statistics just comes from the behaviors that WSA analyzes - it's a view into what WSA is doing in realtime as events take place in the system.

Does WSA have any Registry Protection.

Yes, WSA monitors, scans, and protects all areas of the registry with several different aspects of its shields.

Is WSA compatible with Zemana AntiLogger. ZA was using higher than normal CPU which went back to normal after i turned off WSA. ZA was good after starting up WSA.

I noticed in Windows Task Mgr that about every 20 seconds the WRSA.exe System Process spikes up from about 3,000K to about 38,000K for about 10 seconds.

That is likely the background scanning taking place.
