Dear Sirs I got a problem while try to create dmg image from a usb flash disk, which is a linux ext3 partition. The dmg can be created, but got "no file system" while mount it. I tried on Mountain Lion and Mavericks, extFS 9.0, and tried both whole disk or only one parition, same failure. Any ideas? I not sure is ExtFS support this feature?
Please try to type in the following command in Terminal before attaching DMG image: sudo kextload /System/Library/Filesystems/ufsd_ExtFS.fs/Contents/Resources/ufsd_ExtFS.kext This command will load ExtFS kernel extension. Please provide me with results. P.S. Updated version of ExtFS with support for OS X 10.9 coming soon.
Sorry so later, I am a little busy until today I tried with these steps 1. Plug in a USB flash disk with one ext3 partition 2. In "Disk Utility", choose the disk (not just partition), then "New Image" 3. While done, run "sudo kextload /System/Library/Filesystems/ufsd_ExtFS.fs/Contents/Resources/ufsd_ExtFS.kext", no any output, just done 4. mount the dmg, same error 5. In "Disk Utility", can see the partition under dmg, but can not mount it
I am on 10.9 as well and do have the same issue with ExtFS for Mac del 9.3.89. No access to my ext3 ext. USB Disk. sudo kextload /System/Library/Filesystems/ufsd_ExtFS.fs/Contents/Resources/ufsd_ExtFS.kext does not work for me either.
Hello Folks, Please try this version: http://ftp.paragon.eu.com/support/extfs/Paragon_ExtFS_for_Mac_OS_X_9.3.118.dmg Official update is coming next week.
Hi, Mephist I tried 9.3.118, seems same result And want to report another issue, while open a ext3 USB, a lot of error of iconservicesagent 13-11-27 15:57:39.602 Finder[186]: XPC error messaging com.apple.IconServicesAgent: Connection invalid Sorry, forgot to say, I upgraded OS to Mavericks, and I googled the com.apple.IconServicesAgent issue, seems compatible issue. It drives temperature of my mbp's cpu to 101 C, very crazy
Hi oakleyding, Please, try this version: http://ftp.paragon.eu.com/support/extfs/Paragon_ExtFS_for_Mac_OS_X_9.4.148.dmg Read-only media is supported now.
Hi, Mephist Thanks for your help I tried this one, and here are results of two things 1. Create a new image from usb ext3 partition Bad news, it crashed my mbp while creating image, long time no see the white-gray crash screen And I tried again, new image from whole usb disk, and it works, mounted with ext3, but with same issue 2. Then I tried new image from partition again, and it is also mounted successfully. Seems it is almost fixed, but issue 2 really bother me. 2. Open a usb with ext3 partition, seems same issue here, do you need more information? maybe I can collect it. For now I still can not rely on ExtFS because of this issue, I have to install a centos in Parallels Desktop and mount the usb, access it through sftp 13-11-29 08:52:23.631 com.apple.launchd[1]: (com.apple.IconServicesAgent[381]) Job appears to have crashed: Abort trap: 6 13-11-29 08:52:23.632 Finder[184]: XPC error messaging com.apple.IconServicesAgent: Connection invalid 13-11-29 08:52:23.632 Finder[184]: XPC error messaging com.apple.IconServicesAgent: Connection invalid
Hi oakleyding, Please create a support request on this issue with com.apple.IconServicesAgent. We'll need to collect your metadata to reproduce this one.
Seems that symlink processing on 10.9 causes the problem with Finder. Dev team is investigating the issue. This issue is present on OS X 10.9 only. Older OSes are not affected.
