Just recently started tinkering with YUMI. So far, so good. But one question. When I insert my UFD (while in Windows 7) Windows thinks there is something wrong with the drive and offers to scan it to fix it. Is this normal?
I don't get it with the latest YUMI builds. Having said that, do you use Linux as well? Generally, I find that windows will often try to scan USBs after I've used them in my Linux machines; the scans would never find any problems.
Sort of. It happens after I've used my YUMI drive to run some Linux distros in my normal Windows box.
I was trying to check out Xboot, but I've had a very bizarre problem. I can't get the executable to show up. If I extract it, the folder is empty; there's nothing there (and yes, I have my folder permissions set to display all files, in case it was hidden for some reason). I can see the .exe in the archiving application (Haozip), but if I try to execute it from there, nothing happens. I tried downloading the file from different mirrors and they all give the same result. I'm going to just try YUMI, but I'm curious about what is going on with this one.
Try redownloading the xboot archive from an alternate mirror. Next try extracting the file to a different location; if you previously tried the desktop, try C:\ instead or maybe a different drive entirely. Lastly, try using a different archiving program like 7-zip or WinRAR.
I've never used Haozip but see it has a scanner of sorts built in. What happens when it thinks your download is a virus/trojan when you try to execute it? Also perhaps try downloading using a different browser.
