Seems to be a lack details about his problem, just accusations.
I'd like to know what exactly was the problem he was having - in specifics.

They have other aspects of the test which is where they use the data gathered, but you only pass if you block upfront.

That being said, AV-C and AV-Test are both working very closely with us on methodology which will be able to test WSA and other products alike. So far, what we've seen from their new tests is very impressive and we are very much looking forward to rejoining their tests.

If our support team spent an hour with you, are we really "liars and seeking to undermine you"? I've personally responded to dozens of posts from you across a myriad of different threads and have still not seen whatever issue you're having. As always, I'm more than happy to help... just send me a PM, or continue this conversation in one of the many other threads in the Prevx forum that you've started.

i have webroot installed on more than 350 clients systems (about 50+ i personally PAID FOR and gave away to clients for testing to see how it would work out) and more to come. i almost never have a call reg webroot. and trust me my clients will always call me first before calling webroot that i can guarantee they bought it from me so if there is a issue im first on the dial), so unless im out of town in which case i still almost always answer and can almost always do a remote session unless its something where their pc in not able to be accessed, then i have people who i trust for them to go see or sometimes they will wait till i get back which RARELY happens. not only that but i dont see infections on those systems, i also do not have anyone complain about pop ups and the program asking a million questions (people HATE HATE HATE those programs that do this)

to add one other note, i did have one client who I ASKED to try to call webroot when they said they had a problem, this was early on and this was a key i gave away for testing. they knew we were testing the waters and they were nice enough to play along. the tech from webroot had the issue fixed and everything a-ok in about 20 minutes and my client said they were very polite and asked many times if there was anything else they could help with. i can not say that about to many other companies tech support. in fact some are just horrible.

if this is not a good review im not sure what is. thank you joe and webroot!!

This can't happen soon enough. I've used WSA in the past and the best thing I can say about it is it's really light on resources. Ultimately it was just too buggy (this is documented here) and settings would change on their own constantly. Plus, for a program touted as set it and forget it, there were more sliders and options to tweak in the settings than maybe any other AV I've tried.

I don't wan't any program to make changes to my system until I say it can, and that obviously goes doubly for malware. I don't trust any 'rollback' feature over my ability to determine the legitimacy of a files intentions. I want the malware detected up front, and if my AV is unsure it should ask me.

QFT. :thumb: I've never used WSA but I completely agree with what you want and expect from an AV / security app.

If you haven't used the 2014 product, I suggest trying it again as we removed over 100 configuration options and have vastly simplified the product.

I may give it a trial run once the program is set up under av-comparitives' testing.

I've recently purchased a year subscription to F-Secure Internet Security and have been happily using that for a couple months now. I also just purchased Kaspersky AV for 4.99 at Newegg and plan to use that next.

Exactly, we have a generic cleanup engine which works on-install to repair pre-infected systems but this does not use rollback.

I missed that little detail. The review reads like Webroot SecureAnywhere was installed at the time, though.

PCMag's system was pre-infected with a mix of Virut and Sality which had both infected literally every application on the system. We had to use some internal tools to clean it, as this is a very difficult scenario for any AV to handle.

So is it safe to run WSA AV alongside any security suite?

Most Yes, but there are exceptions too wich it doesn't get along with 100% of the time thanks to WSA or the other product, but wich those are I don't remember. But this changes all the time with new builds etc etc...

Personally I would use WSA alone. :)

Ok folks, I know that I watched a while ago a video that described how WSA is unique and different and it showed how it actually monitored files and changes and was able to "rollback" those changes. But, I can't find it anywhere?!

I'm trying to persuade some family members about the value of WSA and I really wanted them to watch that video. No amount of YouTube searching or even searching here in the forums has helped. Can someone point me to the video that clearly outlines how WSA works when it finds a file it's not sure about and it's "rollback" feature?

    Thanks.

That is it! Thank you very much!

I was looking under something similar to "how webroot works".

Being fair mate we did have this problem my girlfriend and I. I contacted you about it a while ago where webroot did not automatically replace explorer.exe. It removed it, causing windows to be nonfunctional and the webroot software being soft locked to a point where nothing could replace explorer.exe as webroot would not uninstall and had to be manually removed through a round about method also where webroot continued to lock explorer.exe and not allow it to be fixed or replaced.

It does happen, as we did talk about it.
