Hey Pedersen, you live in Denmark right?
Out of curiosity, could you test if you ping rises quite a bit when you have the SCS enabled?
Mine goes from around 30-40 to 230-240ms....
I guess this is because all my traffic has to pass Holland and back, as they do not have data centers here in the north (Scandinavia)?
Maybe Eric or Marc can comment on this?

HitmanPro.UTM has no effect on ping times. Note that 'ping' uses the icmp protocol, which is a different protocol than http. Ping doesn't flow through the transparant proxy. So HitmanPro.UTM / Sitecom Cloud Security has no effect when playing games that rely on low ping, e.g. Call of Duty or Battlefield, since game communication happens on different ports.

  6. Question

    Engines
Info of HMP UTM (according to sitecom) uses Bitdefender, EAM, Ikarus. HMP uses Bitdefener, Kapersky & EAM true difference or just lagging info?

    Fingerprints
Are scan results of HMP also made available to Sitecom cloud? Vice Versa?

HitmanPro second opinion anti-malware is using these cloud-based engines: Bitdefender, Emsisoft and Kaspersky.

HitmanPro.UTM is using a different cloud (in a different data rack) and is using Bitdefender, Emsisoft, Ikarus and some signatures from HitmanPro. Sitecom is not lagging info, the cloud has not been upgraded with the Kaspersky engine (yet).

"the cloud has not been upgraded with the Kaspersky engine"

    why not?
    when will it?

It's a different cloud, other systems, router tailored software, etc. I have no comments on when it will be available though, sorry.

I can only say that browsing becomes a bit more slow with SCS enabled, you definitely notice it.
The only "proof" I have of that (if you consider that proof?) is when you run a bandwidth test of some sort, where you see your ping as a part of the result.

    For example:
    http://www.speedtest.net/
    or
    http://www.bredbandskollen.se/
As I posted before, regarding the ping issue, this is were I got the information from.
As my trial period (SCS) is over, and I decided to wait to renew it due to this, I wont be able to post screenshots from the tests with and without SCS enabled.
Maybe Pedersen can have a go to see if it is only isolated to me?

    Thanks Pedersen!

Did you run any of the links I provided?

Maybe my results are as they are because I run a combined modem/router solution? (WLM-6600 X6 N900)

I have connected WLR4100 with a zyxel cable router. So as long you dont use SCS on 2 routers, then you should be fine with that.

I used speedtest.net, same as you posted and also the best there is.

OK, when I get the chance I will test a router at a different ISP.

    Thanks again.

The ad blocker is ok but nothing to write home about. You might wish to license admuncher technology for your cloud as that is still blocking things that your adblocker can't/won't.

True. But Admuncher does not block ads in apps on Android, iPhone or iPad. SCS does.

Not much good if the ad blocking is rather basic, like the router itself. The only advantage is the cloud security, nothing else, I am afraid.

There is a product called adtrap (getadtrap.com) I came across it while reading an article and someone mentioned it in the comments section.

Disappointed that you just dismiss off hand suggestions to improve the product.

    Hey ho.

Thank you for dinging, but I'd like to mention that this is not the official support forum for Sitecom Cloud Security - please refer to Sitecom for questions on Sitecom Cloud Security.

Our, SurfRight's, primary goal for building the advertisement blocker was to filter major ad servers, which are a high value target for cyber-criminals. The advertisement blocker is not designed to block every single banner. If your favourite online paper is hosting its own banner the ad blocker will not proactively block that banner (unless it's known/scanned to be malicious). If the paper is letting a third-party operate their banners, than those will be blocked.

    Hi Marc,

Is the UTM feature locked to Sitecom or will it be available to other vendors/projects as well?

Hi Esse. Our technology is not locked or exclusive to Sitecom. They were the first to integrate it and our launching partner. We are currently working with much larger a modem/router manufacturer, but I have nothing to announce yet

Oh, please tell me it is Zyxel and being used in the USG series.

Dont hold your breath. If it is Zyxel then it would only be included in new models...
