I e-mailed Q360 about this and received this reply:

    Dear sxxxxxxxt@yahoo:
Thank you for your support to 360.
You should run 360 Internet Security as Administrator when you log in non-administrator account.
And we will make improvement on this point.
We earnestly hope that you will give us your valuable criticisms and suggestions.
    Best Regards.

What is their support email address? - I want to report the very high cpu drain that I'm experiencing right after startup.

    Thanks,
    Cruise

Hey Cruise, how's it going? Their support email address is... support@360safe.com

I haven't noticed unusually high use of my i7 quad cpu, but I would imagine that's entirely possible with a single-core P4. So far I'm pretty impressed with Q360 and (contrary to the installation warning to remove SD) I'm finding it to be an excellent complement for Shadow Defender!

    Regards,
    TS

Wow, i tried v4.5 yesterday and i really like it. It's nothing like the version we got when we started this thread. It's now a really good product, i'll have very hard time deciding between 360 and avast!. Why oh why did i try 360 again :D

yes I think that Bitdefenders web filter is a little more advanced than Qihoo 360's. I've used both in testing and Bitdefenders web filter is very good.

Sorry. I read it wrong. Thought you were being sarcastic. Not that it matters if you were. Yes I agree with you. It's a much better product than when it started. Still has the protection startup issue. Not much of an issue for me since I've run it with CFW and WSA.

Yes, it's about the web filter. Many times an AV can detect a file without being able to block the site it came from (even before a signature update) or vice versa.

Its sandbox doesn't seem to work. It refused to add whatever I tried to.

Hm, it worked fine for me, tried one of my apps inside it. If everything is denied, maybe sandbox driver is not installed properly...

    It seems good AV.

But still I would not recommend it to average users coz of its proactive protection, though it can be disabled but will affect zero day protection.

Cruelsister, a user here too, have tested this AV + CF quite heavily & posted results in malwaretips. Results for only Qihu was also effective.

When I tested it I saw quite a few-many popups i.e proactive protection. So I wondered if its based on some suspicious activities or gives the popup for both safe & malicious programs.

Then I read PCMag review where the reviewer mentioned the proactive is chatty & gives the same popups for safe or malicious programs like startup changes, driver load, etc...

So I tested it for usability i.e safe programs & though it doesn't acts like classical HIPS but its also not a light HIPS, somewhere in the middle, medium HIPS & not suitable for average users in my opinion.

For experts definitely a good traditional AV + their own 2 protection module + proactive, one of the best free software, at par or even better compared to top free AVs.

It was paired with CIS I guess that was the reason.

Shh! RejZoR. (Good thing Vlk never looks at this forum ;) )
You can use them both! I still have AIS on my own machines but I've had 360IS on some XP PCs in an educational institution (I got permission from Qihu first) for "148 Days", as the UI boldly tells me. No apparent problems so far.

I have been reading this large thread in its entirety and 360 internet security is certainly a tempting proposition.

For free it seems an awesome application.

Im still pondering with this one.

Hmmm wonder what kind of bug fixes they are. Hopefully the late starting protection or maybe the stale virus update a day later. Nice to know that they are now supporting a popular web browser. Not sure why it wasn't protected in the first place.

Not being able to run this on a XP computer with fast user switching between an admin account and a LUA is a non-starter for me. I wish they fix that soon as I had nothing but problems starting in a LUA or going from a admin account to a LUA.

I've removed 360 v4.5 because it was making Youtube incredibly laggy with choppy playback. Will try v4.7 again to see if they fixed it.

Rejzor let me know your findings. I like this AV but it still needs some polishing I think.
