Archive listed in Windows differ from those listed by the Recovery CD

Hi,
I recently had occasion to restore my C: drive, but could not make sense of the backups listed by the recovery CD. I was forced instead to boot again into Windows and select my system's drive archive from the list I found there. I have attached a screen shot of my system and have 1 1 terabyte external hard drive.

Under Window, Paragon lists the following archives --
Basic Hard Drive 0 (WDC....)
OS (C
Basic Hard Drive (Unknown Model)
File Level Archiv.
Under the recovery CD, Paragon lists the following --
/ Root Dir
My Computer (My Computer)
/mnt/disk (Mounter Resources)
/mnt/disk (Local Disks)
/media (Removable Disks)
SCSI CD/DVD (HL-PT-SDVD+-RW GHA2N (1 M)
D:\ (NTFS, 0 on disk 0) (UFSD Free Agent)
E:\ (NTFS (1 on disk 1) (Recovery)
F:\ (NTFS (2 on disk 1) (OS)
G:\ (NTFS (4 on disk 1) (Photos)
H:\ (NTFS (5 on disk 1) (Music)
I:\ (NTFS) (6 on disk 1) (Backup)
J:\ (Ext4FS) (8 on disk 1) (USFD Disk)
K:\ (Ext4FS) (9 on disk 1) (USFD Disk)
I do not see any correlation between the two and am confused by the inclusion, under the recovery CD, of the backups of disks 4, 5, and 5 on disk 1 which I have since deleted.

A second problem that has just started happening is that when I do a file level backup and enter a descriptive comment, the archive listing, under Windows, reads File Level Archive rather than the name I entered.

Hi,
One correction and one addition --
The file level archived is, in fact, labeled with the name I gave it when I created it.
And the OS (C and Basic Hard Drive (Unknown model) archives were themselves restored after I restored the C drive.

I would greatly appreciate any help with this problem since the archives listed by the recovery CD are useless to me and would leave me unable to do a restore if I was unable to boot into Windows.

Some further information --
I am running Paragon Hard Disk Manager version 2010 under Windows 7 SP1.
The screen where I'm seeing those archives known to the recovery CD is entitled "Opening the next volume of archives" and is reached by selecting Restore Wizard from the main menu.
Selecting an archive and clicking on OPEN results in nothing and I am unable to backspace out of the screen, being forced instead to power down the PC,

 

Not clear to me what you are describing, The archive list is just a convenience. It is possible for the program to lose track of the database. It doesn't matter.

I never use the archive list. Just browse to the archive you want using the wizard, then select the .pbf file.


1. Start the wizard




2. Switch to file view




3. Select the .pbf




4. If you want to restore the entire image , highlight it and Next



Then select destination for restore.

NOTE:

If you just wanted some files out of the image, expand it by clicking the + and select what you want to copy out of the backup image.

So, all I need to do is locate the backup medium under the Browse for archive screen and select the correct arc file from the list of files on that device?

Pretty much, but you select the .pbf file inside the arc folder. Exactly as in the screenshots above.
