Question for computer security experts

I have next problem.
My neighbors from other apartments have a remote wireless access to my laptop and desktop PC and create me some problems and watch what I am doing.
They can connect to my computers when I don’t use Internet.
I have used different antivirus programs, firewalls, antispyware software, but all these programs haven’t found anything suspicious.
I suppose somebody has done something with my PC (for example, with motherboard, BIOS or installed a special hardware device). This person is very experience in computers and microelectronics.
When somebody connect to my laptop or desktop PC I watch as my program begin to work slower.
I think because my useful operation memory to become smaller.
Earlier I have done format HD and installed OS (Windows, Linux Ubuntu) and software again but this didn’t help me.
Maybe I must look for a device for scanning all frequency range that can use for remote wireless access?
Then I can jam so radio waves with another apparatus.

If you are the owner/administrator/main user of network you probably have right to do some restriction e.g. MAC adress filtering that you can do in your router firewall. You should check your MAC adress and deny any others.
You should also disable file/printer sharing, set network as "untrusted" and check who is connected to you.

The methods used to connect to computers are network wiring, Bluetooth wireless or WiFi wireless. If you are saying your neighbor's connection is none of these, then you are in unknown territory for most regular computer users like us at this forum.

This almost sounds like spying! Have you to talked to the police?

 

Are they using your wireless router signal? If yes, change the password.
If your desktop has a wired internet connection, they may have spliced into your wire.
Besides your Internet connection slowing down, how do you know they are actually in your computer?
Just curious, can they turn on your computer when it is turned off? If yes, I'd move.

Try to open Task Manager, see the CPU usage, RAM usage, disk I/O activity, network traffic, etc to spot what caused the problem. Or use Process Explorer for more detailed monitoring.

That means the person has sneaked into your house/apartment. This is more than just a cyber crime.

 

You need to hide your wi=fi behind a properly configured router/modem.

Read the user manual and configure your router to have an unbreakable new random password of maximum length.

Also turn off the broadcast feature so your neighbours cannot so easily tell if your router/modem is active. When you are out turn off the router ie pull plug.

 

The problem is the OP said s/he still had the problem even without connecting to the internet. I assume that also means the router was off.

The OP also stated that s/he already used different kinds of software firewalls, which is very interesting because all those firewalls were bypassed.

I'm not convinced OP is stating correctly what is happening. No offense possibly a language barrier.

I think what has been ruled out already is what is happening. Namely access to OPs internet connection either wireless or wired.

 

I try to explain my situation.
I worked earlier in a commercial firm with sly, clever, rich people.
Later some of them came to hate me. All of them are one nationality and live not only in my country (Ukraine).
They can buy any device in the world and have hight IQ.
So they ask my neighbors to help them.
They organize to access to my computers.
I haven't use Internet earlier and my neighbors may watch what I am doing.
They know my potential and of course they know I can to reinstall OS Windows(Linux) and install all software again. I've done so.
I liked IT when I was a pupil of a secondary school.
First personal computer I saw 1990. It was compatible PC XT with VGA display. Two ukrainians from Canada's diaspora made a present ( 3 computers) for our school. Thanks a lot them.
So I have some experience using PC and I can note how work my laptop or desktop.
My observers use some part of operation memory my computer.
I checked my OS with different antiviruses, antispyware programs, but I found nothing.
Some people are very very curious and can break the law and intrude your private life. Prove so facts is hard.
Our police department has't special equipment and don't like to work.
They expect evidences from me.
Many firms don't pay all taxes and hide some part of incomings.
My country has hight level of corruption, unfortunately.
I must protect myself.

 

I don't know how organize to access to my PC but I was a good pupil in school.
I remember like subject as physics a little.
I heard about radio waves.
So from transmitter to receiver radio waves moves with some frequency.
If I can detect frequency so wireless maybe I can jam it .

Maybe here is more knowing in physics, computer security and microelectronics.

I'm not an expert here, so pardon if this question sounds silly. But can remote desktop connection be done with radio control?

If it isn't too late, try to disable remote desktop connection in the setting. A bit of friendly warning though, before you're accusing someone for criminal acts, you'll need to provide valid evidence. Otherwise, you'll get yourself into troubles.

 

I have re-read everything and if someone is tapping into your system, and it's not Bluetooth, wired or wireless networking, there almost has to be some piece of hardware near or in your computer. Have you opened it up and verified everything inside? Anything that looks new and not dusty like the other parts?

I formed a list of questions. Maybe it help me.

1) How can I check my hardware in laptop?
I am afraid of I can't detect any a special and a stranger device.
I have opened up my desktop PC and installed TV tuner card.
I haven't verified everything inside it.
I have seen a motherboard, a cooler, a processor, a hard disk, a floppy and a DVD recorder, a power adapter or power module, a memory card in the motherboard's slot.
I haven't seen any strange device inside my desktop.
But it's difficult to note like device inside if it is very small and soldered into
the motherboard or into the power adapter.

2) How check my OS Windows or Linux and software?
I must be firmly convinced my OS and software aren't modificated by somebody.

3) How check my network (Bluetooth, WiFi)?
I use firewall and check downloaded files and PC with antivirus.
How can I look for a concealed network connection?

 

You need to take your machine down to your local PC repair shop and let them check it out. If they can't find anything wrong, my next suggestion would be to find a local Anonymous Group member to check out your situation. Also, if there is A Spy Shop around, might try asking them what might be going on. Have you thought about moving? Best of luck!

How to detect this fact?

 

@vl72: What you're describing is probably not possible without some very expensive equipment (to say the least).

Can you indicate why it is that you suspect your computer is being tampered with? So far everything you've said makes it sound like there are no traces of actual tampering, and no reason to suspect compromise.

What is your evidence of foul play? e.g. Have you been billed for things you never bought? If you have reason to believe your identity has been stolen, is it possible that it was stolen by other means than your computer?

Disgusting. But that involved bog-standard malware, not puppeting computers with bizarre EM tricks. Or am I missing something?

 

Well, maybe he has some sort of malware that does those things. Turning on a video camera has similar mechanics. I'm waiting for his answer to your questions.
