I cannot change the default display in youtube videos. If I change to HD or any other resolution then I am getting a black screen. I dint have this problem before installing hitmanpro.alert. Is this a known issue ?

Edit: Tried disabling hitmanpro.alert service but still same issue.

Have come across a problem (false positive?) with 2.5 that didn't occur with v2.
I have ACDSee Pro 6 photo editing software installed on my Win7 x64 machine.
Since installing Alert 2.5 when I close ACDSee I get a block from HMP Alert 2.5 with this screen warning

The HMP scan is clean and I can then use the computer again but if I try to start ACDSee again I get this

If I reboot the machine I can then open ACDSee again normally but when I close it I get the alert again and I cannot use it again without a reboot.

As a side note I am impressed that HMP Alert now seems to be implementing system wide protection and not just to the browser :thumb:

Thanks for the report :thumb: Thats why 2.5 is still in Beta so that we can iron out the problems before launching to broader audience. I will try to reproduce and will post the results here.

Please uninstall and reboot. If the problem is gone, install 2.5 again and watch video.

Ok thanks! I was just hoping it would prevent personal files getting malformed from more than one ransomware family :) (i mean like for future variants)

The alert is for iexplore.exe (various PID) I noticed after trying to download something FDM wouldn't execute only IE8 browser download would work. Disabled FDM plug-in and subsequent browser restarts had no HMPAlert warning just the normal pop-out.
Didn't have HMP installed at the time because I wanted to confirm that download HMP to scan from HMPAlert would function and it did not. Thinking there may have been a corruption in HMPAlert I used Revo to uninstall. After reboot svchost.exe -k netsvcs was using 100% CPU and 30% of RAM (2 GB installed) wuauserv having the biggest appetite. Rebooted and slected "last known good configuration" still had excessive CPU utilization by svchot.exe -k netsvcs. Since wuauserv was the pig I went to Windows Update and found I had to run ActiveX for (update agent I assume) Custom Scan would not complete.
Rather than doing any more troubleshooting, and not really wanting to, I tried System Restore. Tried several restore points and none would work.
Thank you Lars Hederer for ERUNT, used daily autobackup restore and issue resolved except I can't use HMPAlert 2.5 and FDM together. In the interim I using CrptoPrevent.
I should note I repro'd the issue with FDM on my XP Home machine but did not have the same issues with svchost.exe.

Well, actually, the design of CryptoGuard works for a lot more ransomware families, even future ones. So it's not just limited to CryptoLocker and Dorifel.

    Erik or Mark,

what kind of vulnerability was exploited in your video in order to get CryptoLocker onto the system just by visiting the website. What browser constellations are affected by this vulnerability?

    Thank you!

I can confirm that Hitman Pro Alert Beta is incompatible with Norton Internet Security 2013 (v. 20.4.0.40)

Problem is that I can't open main NIS windows. It seems that NIS is active in system tray and also there is Norton processes in Task Manager. After restart if iI click on NIS icon main windows briefly appears and closes by itself.
Unfortunately, removing Hitman solves problem. While is installed, Hitman works silent in background an I haven't other problems.

    OS - Windows 7 64-bit

    [edit]
Yes, I'm right. Later, I reinstalled Hitman and issue appers again. Main NIS window can't be opened.
Other NIS parts works normaly - like Quick Scan, Disable/Enable Firewall and virus protection etc.

Hello, is there any plan to incorporate HitmanPro.Alert in HitmanPro?

There are plans to offer HitmanPro.Alert as optional install with HitmanPro.

HitmanPro is already integrated in Alert. Alert is offering a download & scan when infection is detected.

    Hope this helps.
