Totally agree with you. If I didn't have 8GB of memory installed, I would install 32 bit Windows 7 an put Malware Defender on it. Now I just feel bad using only half of installed memory.
I also noticed 360.cn removed Malware Defender from their site, so they might also stop developing it and all hopes for 64bit are gone... :(

Yes that's a grave disappointment and just adds to the risks we always need to prepare against and Malware Defender was a razor sharp prevention shield that is equal to any hostile tasks.

My beloved EQSysecure HIPS also has slipped out of site i fear. If only they would have coded it for 64 bit before abandoning it. As is, it would have been enough, but......

Malware Defender's inventor and maybe EQSysecure's are probably working the 360 lab is my guess.

Re-added Outpost FW to my setup.

  10. I 'downgraded' to 32 bits windows after reading 'pushing the limits' blog of Mark Russinovich. Running only 32 bits on a 32 bits system makes everything less complex. Agree less kernel protection but lots of free (old) programs still working on Windows 7 like SpyShelter (and old GesWal).

My advice when you like HIPS so much, assign 6GB to a Ramdisk, because win7 on 32 with 2GB memory really is enough (see pic)

Thank you a lot for this advice. I was thinking about the same for last few days but could not decide. I was planning to reinstall my OS in next two month and I guess I will do as you suggested.
I was checking my memory consumption and I never go over 3GB. So I can safely assign 4 GB of RAM for Ramdisk.
Your advice is greatly appreciated :) Thnx again :thumb:

Glad I jumped on it before bed last night. I had a feeling it wouldn't last long.
