Bitdefender Safepay is a solution that protects the browser from the rest of the system. It is designed to secure financial transactions on a compromised system. Further, the premium version offers a VPN service to secure traffic on an open and unsecured wifi.

Sandboxie is designed to protect the system from the browser (and other sandboxed applications), so that malware which comes through these threat-gate applications cannot permanently touch the system. Sandboxie does not protect your browser from malware running inside or even outside the sandbox.

If you just write "Bitdefender Safepay, Sandboxie", you are implying that these programs are similar, which, in fact, they are not. Bitdefender Safepay is similar to Avast Safezone whereas Sandboxie is definitely not.

Sbie is not an alternative for avast! SafeZone. Sbie is an environment in the form of a sandbox that keeps the threats and everything away from the system thus keeping it safe. Whereas Safe zone is in general a separated environment inside the pc, that has no connection within the rest of the system. That is it doesn't let anything in the system touch it. Thus protecting the browsing session from any threats already in the system.

EDIT: Looks like FleischmannTV beat me to it. He is totally correct.:thumb:

Virtual Kiosk - the part of CIS. AFAIK there's no separate VK.

You are totally correct I don't know what I was thinking. I probably shouldn't be posting and working at the same time.

Not exactly true. While SBIE doesn't protect browser by itself, you can lock it down to do so. I've set it to allow running only browser EXE in it, drops all rights and prevents bunch of stuff from installing in there.
If you want to go hardcore, you can use a clean browser inside, free of all addons and plugins. Plus, avast! still scans the files within SBIE folder, so it's also protected this way.

So you're saying sbie can prevent outside interference from the system just like SafeZone? Sbie can only create an environment which stops threats from reaching the system. SafeZone is an environment doing the opposite that is stops any threat from reaching itself.

Well, my SBIE alternative prevents anything else to be running in the same memory space as the sandboxed browser. If you set it this way. I've restricted it that only browser can be executed within that browser. It's not the same but comes very close.

Can these be used together? I don't think Safepay accepts plugins. Does the free version of SP come with the "wallet" so you can save passwords?

I don't have really much experience with SP, but I think it has a special browser like Avast SF, and Trusteer protects the normal installed browsers, so they probably won't conflict as they don't protect the same browser.

I think the best alternative is any well-known live Linux distro. Well this may take a few minutes more but the security is unparallel.

I believe you're correct, ie they can both be installed on the system, but Rapport can't protect the Safepay browser.

Yes, it is free as far as I know. I just logged in and was able to use it. I don't understand why they show the 30 day evaluation on their site. I have had an account with them for a very long time. I don't think anything has changed.

edit:I clicked on the 30 day button and found out that is for "Protect On Q", a different product so I am pretty sure MyQuarri is free.
