Nope, anything it can do, my PC can do for less $$$. The only advantage is portability, and I don't need to take a PC anywhere. And I laugh at games who drop thousands on Alienware "gaming laptops."
They're quite capable unless you want unnecessary details maxed. Of course portability is key, but the form factor allows easy setup and storage as well.
I need to take my computer to the public library or when i fly out of the country. Only laptops fit the bill (Tablets are a joke).
I didn't vote because none of the options pertains to my situation exactly. Several years ago, it became necessary to upgrade my desktop PC, and I thought, Why not just use my laptop and connect the external keyboard and monitor when using it at home! Much more convenient, and one less hunk of metal and pile of cables/wires sitting on my floor! I take the laptop on trips about once a month. ---- rich

not quite so. engineer in a corp. responsible for operations in various regions. believe me, not as fun as it sounds. you never got the time to travel around the places you visit, 99% of the time you get off the plane, head to the hotel or directly to the office, do what you're supposed to do, get back to the airport, get aboard and off to the new destination or home.
I do use a laptop but prefer a desktop cause I like bigger screens and they don't get hot as easy and if something fails I can fix it, laptops are more expensive to fix and a pita since everything is tiny and plastic.
