Guys from MalwareTips recommended me to ask for help on this forum.

I cannot run HitmanPro for some time, I don't know why
    I run it. (as admin)
The process starts and then kills itself in a second.
OS fresh installed, all HDD scanned by Malwarebytes, ESET and Kaspersky Rescue Disk. Nothing found.
This started happening when I moved from Windows 7 to Windows 8 and then to Windows 8.1. HitmanPro cannot run on Windows 8 and 8.1...

    Additional info :
When I tried to run it from the safe mode I got this error
    http://s24.postimg.org/lpfy0fcnp/Capture.jpg
    I went to Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center\Reliability Monitor
and I got this (in the screenshot)

    I have tried this too
    advanced system settings
    under performance, clicked settings
clicked the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then clicked Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
clicked Add, browsed to the executable file of Hitman Pro and I couldn’t add it.

Nothing worked. I have tried a couple of older HitmanPro versions and none of them can’t run ☹
Does anybody has an idea what's going on?
    Thanks in advance

Hello, I'm new to forums (of any kind really) so, if I'm posting in the wrong place please let me know how to do this. Here is my problem, im trying to run Hitman pro kickstart from a flash drive but in the instructions it says to go into boot menu, so I hit F2 and it looks like a DOS page but is asking for a password!! We have had this computer for 7 years, bought brand new and NEVER set any type of password AND have never been into this part of the boot menu at all. Could it be that whatever bug/virus thats in there has done this? It is running windows vista 32bit. What brought me to go about using Hitman is that something has gotten in there and has taken over my internet access. It says I am disconnected from my wireless internet and instead of connecting automaticly i am having to put in the network pass code but when i type it in then hit ok, it erases it! so i type again, hit ok and it erases again, so i typed again and I hit enter instead of ok and it still erased the password! I am at a loss. All other computers are fine and the router and modem are fine and the password has not changed so my sister told me to use hitman but i already wrote above what has happened while attempting that. Please, if anyone has any info or thing for me to try PLEASE let me know. This is a priority, we need that laptop up and running. Thank you in advance!!

If this has happened from when you first installed HP, I would suspect HP as the culprit and try uninstalling and re download a new copy. Don't download from CNET because they downloaded an app to me with a trojan and I don't trust them. The only other suggestion I have is to do a scan with Malwarebytes.

I ran Hitman Pro last night on my XP Pro SP3 system and it is definitely not liking what happened to it. It takes FOREVER to boot and when it does come up, my DPC latency is spiking like MAD! This machine is running Sonar X2 as a studio computer and the latency is killing me! I can't stream worth a damn. Hitman did something bad to this machine. I have been scouring over the hitman log but I can't see what it did wrong. There was quite a bit of tracking cookies and other adware that it seems to have removed but I sure would like a stable system again! Any ideas?

That's weird, I'm running Cubase 7 and Studio One 2 on XP Pro SP3 and HMP doesn't affect boot time or audio latency at all. Are you using an ASIO driver? If so, check its control panel to see what buffer size you are using.

You could try to run another DAW in demo mode, like Reaper for example. If it works right maybe you could solve this by installing Sonar again.

Sorry, but DPC latency (Deferred Procedure Call) has nothing to do with ASIO drivers or any other audio drivers. Google it. It's kind of hard to explain. This is a Hitman Pro issue. As a matter of fact I haven't even bothered to open Sonar since this happened because when I run an app that measures the DPC latency called dpclat.exe, I can see spikes which is guaranteed to cause glitches in the audio stream and I don't even want to hear that. When I first started out I had an issue which I found was a Gigabyte app that was checking the MOBO all the time and caused the spikes but I got rid of the program and got rid of the spikes. This Hitman Pro scan/delete has created an instability in my OS that is causing major spikes in my DPC latency. Until I fix that, neither ASIO or WMD or any other audio driver is going to work without glitching. I need to find someone who knows what happened to the registry keys that were deleted and how I can rebuild what I had before running the app. I have the log file. Hopefully someone can read it better that I can and see what may have de-stabilized my system. Thanks anyway, at least it was a response!

 I forgot to mention that in addition to DPC latency spikes, the computer takes FOREVER to boot. It used to take maybe a minute for everything to load up but now it takes about 4 full minutes! All is normal at POST and then as Windows starts to load it goes into a snails pace. Just thought I'd add that to the list of problems since running Hitman Pro.

Thats quite a problem you have there. I wonder what was deleted. If you want we can have a remote look what is going on. Maybe your hard drive went into PIO mode instead of DMA?

I looked into the DMA issue and found that indeed, all of my drives were being controlled by DMA 5 or 6 except for one of two on the Primary side and it was being run in PIO even though it was supposed to be running in DMA if possible. That can be forced to run in DMA in the registry, right?
I would LOVE for someone to help me repair the problem! What do I do?

Send an e-mail to erik(at]surfright.com and I will make sure we can have a remote support session to solve the problem.

About the PIO issue, Windows signaled hardware issues with the hard drive and placed it from DMA into PIO mode. I've seen this on an old computer of my uncle a few years ago; back then it was unrelated to HitmanPro though.

In safe mode, your program does not display the next etc buttons, you need to do something about this please; program is unusable. Likewise with Kickstart.

I have a Sandboxie sandbox that I want to scan with HitmanPro. Windows Explorer tells me the sandbox directory contains 15,000 files. When I right-click on the directory and select "Scan with HitmanPro", HMP tells me no threats are found, but that it only scanned 14 file objects. Why did it only scan 14 out of 15,000 files? Can I set it up to scan all files? I do not see such an option.

HitmanPro cannot scan subdirectories. This has been discussed before, and isn't changing.

First, Wilders notifications is broken. I don't get ANY email when a post is made in THIS thread. I suspected it a few weeksago but I am certain. I do get reminders from other threads, but not this one :(

About your question, HitmanPro resizes the screen to 800x600 when resolution is smaller. This way you can reach the buttons.

Somehow this resolution switching isn't working on your end. I can send you a small app to diagnose the issue. Please send an email to erik [at] surfright.com and I'll send you a small tool to run in Safe Mode.

I'm still getting emails, but I don't take any notice of emails from Wilders because I just go to https://www.wilderssecurity.com/usercp.php which will tell me if there are any new posts in threads I've subscribed to. I find that a better way, particularly since I generally don't check for new emails.

I have just tried to run Hitman scan and it thinks, that I have no internet connection. Well since Windows Updates think the same since 8.1 update, I am not surprised, but I always find strange, why do applications ask Windows, if there is an internet connection, instead of just trying to connect? I have Network Store service disabled and related.

Once I start the service, start the scan and stop the service again, the scan finishes just fine. I suppose, that 8.1 changed something in network settings.

HitmanPro actually does try to connect to a few websites before it determines whether there is a connection. If you run Fiddler you can see this behavior.
