Here is how it looks when I open 'Manage Rules' window. First one created today. The ones I created before today are on the bottom of the list with the latest one last and then ascending in order of when I made them.

    The rules are inverted.

alexandrud, solved the problem. I just imported a backup of my rules and all is back to normal.

On "User created rules" are displayed only the rules that are in the group named "Windows Firewall Control". When no filters are applied or any sorting, then the latest rules are always on top of the list. This is how Windows Firewall API returns them and this is how WFC displays them.

@alexandrud Mind adding some "Reset Sort Order" button (perhaps under the "Actions" sidebar section) that makes the Manage Rules window re-run the Windows Firewall API, obtain and display the rules in Latest-Oldest order? Currently, only way to get back this order is to close and reopen the Manage Rules window.

I will try to add a new menu item in the data grid header context menu called "Remove current sorting".

Windows Firewall Control v.4.0.2.8 - New version

    What's new:
    - New: Added a new "Reset sorting" menu item in the data grid header context menu for Manage Rules window. This will reset any sorting on any column and will restore the default state without any sorting active.
    - Updated: The command parameters have been updated. Supported parameters are:
For a quick operation you can call the Run dialog and simply execute: wfc -mr

    - Fixed: Manage Rules window sometimes does not restore properly to the last state if the the window was closed in Maximized state.
    - Fixed: The validation rules for IPv6 addresses were updated and the rules that contain IPv6 addresses as remote addresses or local addresses will be valid when a rule is modified and contains IPv6 parameters.

Installation notes: Just use the updater to update to the new version. That's all.

If you find any problems with this release please report them and I will fix them shortly. Also, if you have new features in mind, please share them and if it is possible I will implement them.

Thank you for your support and your feedback,
    The developer ;)

Manage Rules does not remember my settings when it is closed and reopened. If I uncheck 'Group' and check 'Description' then close the window and reopen...it returns to default. In other words, 'Group' appears and 'Description' does not.

A bit it does, may I suggest the following ?

A Black [F] when in High Filtering
A Green [F] when in Medium Filtering
A Orange [F] when in low filtering
A Red [F] when in No Filtering

    something like this:

Awesome update alexandrud! Regarding the notification area icon, not sure if you intended it, but it looks more like a photovoltaic (PV) system symbol:

Might I suggest using the actual Windows Firewall 16x16 icon in the executable? The earth part will be blue-green while the firewall changes between black, green, orange and red.

I like the GUI including the systray icon. However, if alexandrud decides to include more choices to choose from for the systray icon than better yet.

I like the current icon pretty good. But IF it needs a change, I find the proposal of MrElectrifyer senseful.

    Greetings,

Here's a rough Paint.NET sketch of what I'm talking about:

    Medium Filtering: Medium Filtering Icon.png

    Low Filtering: Low Filtering Icon.png

    No Filtering: No Filtering Icon.png

Nice but as for me, I already have AppGuard and the icon in the systray is similar to what you have suggested. Right now, we are beta testing 4.0 and unless they change the icon, it will be the same and I will have 2 similar looking icons.

I am pretty sure that Alexandrud would like to keep his product unique.
