It does now, according to an earlier post. Now all it needs is web protection in the free version without a toolbar, then it would be one of the best free AVs. It is nice though how well it does without tons of bells and whistles.
By cloud features you mean APC right ? I dont see the options in the free version. I know there was an option in General settings for the cloud features in Premium version, but I dont find this in free version. Or is the cloud feature integrated into the product and hidden ? Contest: the first person to guess how many more "does/doesn't have cloud" posts there'll be in this pathetic thread wins a prize: 180 days of Ashampoo Antivirus for free.
No need to be nasty. And yes there is no cloud in the free version http://techblog.avira.com/2013/10/14/advanced-real-time-protection-with-avira-protection-cloud/en/ "The new feature is available in all premium products, version 2013 and 2014: - Antivirus Suite - Internet Security Suite - Family Protection Suite - Ultimate Protection Suite"
The free version does not yet have the Avira Protection Cloud (APC) but the planing on what needs to be changes/improved to also have it available in the free has already started. At this time it's impossible to predict when that change is ready to be released.
appreciate the pm stephan and i will await the updates!!! thank you for all the help! i really want avira to be back in my top three.
Is there anyway to set the free version to automatically remove threats? On mine under realtime protection -scan -action on detection all it says is "use event log" the reason why i ask is because is when it asks me to remove a threat the scan it does takes forever on ky system.
Did something bad happen with version 14? I went to Softpedia and noticed they took down version 14 and have version 13 instead.
im sure stephan will chime in as to what happened im not sure if i am suppose to post the info so i will leave it to him.

Re: Hijacking of AV firms’ websites may be linked to hack on Network Solutions hey pal, you missed to post your last quote on the TrendMicro thread, I mean just to be fair.. don't you think so?
Re: Hijacking of AV firms’ websites may be linked to hack on Network Solutions Why? This hacking topic actually started out as it's own thread but was later merged with this avira thread, so I posted it in here because all is connected to Network Solutions, and not Trend Micro.
Re: Hijacking of AV firms’ websites may be linked to hack on Network Solutions Network Solutions yes, but your first quote (from ronjor) involves Avira... isn't that the reason you posted the quote here? fine... Then, your second quote doesn't mention Avira but other security companies, being TrendMicro one of them.. got it now? unless of course..
Re: Hijacking of AV firms’ websites may be linked to hack on Network Solutions What do you want me to say? Ronjors quote involves Avira but it's not about Avira. My quote involves Trend Micro but it's not about Trend Micro. Both quotes are about the problems at Network Solutions. Unless what?
Re: Hijacking of AV firms’ websites may be linked to hack on Network Solutions So it's not about Avira but it was posted on Avira's thread? And it's not about TrendMicro (also affected by the NS issue) but it shouldn't be posted on their own thread? Oh well..
Re: Hijacking of AV firms’ websites may be linked to hack on Network Solutions Scroll down to the middle on this page https://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32&page=3&order=desc ....till you see: Merged: Hijacking of AV firms’ websites may be linked to hack on Network Solutions Click it and see where it goes.....wich is why I posted the rest of the Network Solutions story in here, and included a quote from the first incident so readers could see the connection.
