Hi Joe,

Small question here: there are promotions on Webroot many a times and I'd like to go for one of those. But it seems there is no way to add the purchased days to an existing (beta) licence?

That's not true Amit! To the OP you can buy legal WSA keycodes and contact support and put the new keycode in the ticket and ask them to add the time to your BETA keycode but make sure you purchase a WSA-Complete Keycode. In this case you will not lose your Paswords and Back Up & Sync.

I wouldn't add time to a BETA keycode, because those are given out free anyway and are given different (slightly fewer) capabilities than normal keys. They are also extended for free when Beta stuff happens. ... BUT!... The extensions are done by DB mod that resets the days to a value regardless of what the current time is. Sooooooo yeah...

So beta keys have FEWER capabilities? I thought the new stuff is added there first giving beta users MORE features.

Not sure why the OP wants to extend a beta key as with standard key you can run anyway the beta.
You just need to know the beta download location.

 

I thought the beta software had more features (well, faster) and certainly not LESS features. But...perhaps I'll now just buy 2 promo licenses and have the days added together. That sounds like a better plan. I never would have known if I had not asked here first

 

Yes it would. But look on the bright side. In your own words you'd be able to use WSA for 6 months with full deck.
