+1, Avast has made it so that it is light, extremely secure yet convenient.

Anyone having problems with the browser piugin for firefox?.Ive noticed that after moving the icon in firefox customise it doesnt stay there but moves back to its original position on the navigation bar after firefox restart. Also clicking the icon sometimes greys out the whole web page and nothing slides out from the side.Seems to be just on the bbc site??

    Attached Files:

  3. Greying out is default behaviour, because navigation is directed to side screen of Avast IMO, at least on Chromium that is what I see when clicking Avast icon

Isn't the default behavior a "this site is safe" popup sliding out from the side? rather than turning the whole page grey with no popup?.At least this happens on all sites ive tried except bbc ??

My bad. I had Avast unchecked in Sandboxie's Compatibility settings. Avast Free 9.0.2005.141 seems to be working fine now.

    Later...

I'd like to point out the Avast! Online Security extension conflicts with DoNotTrackMe, probably since they both have anti-tracking features. Since Avast! also blocks malware, I've removed DNTM.

I'm using ADP and DNT and haven't had any issues. I am using essentially the Avast IS  default set up except for a few PUP selections.

I removed Donottrack me as I found that Avast blocked more , for instance on cnet dntm blocked 11 companies while avast blocked 13.

Yep, I did the same. I'm now using it with Bitdefender TrafficLight and AdBlock PLUS, and no conflicts.

Another one who did the same. I wonder if you still need Bitdefender TrafficLight. Also using HTTPS Everywhere without conflicts.

Probably just a freak result, because it was good before. The devs are trying to introduce more proactive stuff now, but they have always been sensible about making a well-rounded product.

Yeah it's unfortunate people react to test like that. Thank goodness I have a layered defense. I'd have to change too.

check those reports back to 2012- avast is at same place more or less and plenty better detections by other vendors.
