    I think "Application Control" module in KIS is really great. You can restrict any application from doing something you find suspicious. Put it simply (my imagination): you have the code of a program and you are compiling the way you like it:doubt: . Any way I read a lot here about AppGuard, and I am not sure if it worth adding to my system. Could you please help me decide..

    I use AppGuard on all my machines and I love it. In your case, I think you should keep KIS and don't bother with AppGuard. You've already bought KIS and it provides enough protection. Plus, you're satisfied already, so no need to buy extra protection.

    +2 and remember to update to KIS 2014 as soon as out. There are important new security features on control of applications (i.e. trusted application mode).

    Thanks guys I decided and much appreciated. Just curious if KIS's Application Control is more powerful than AppGuard or not?

    Of course you need Appguard! Everyone does! Just kidding. :) I have not used KIS in many years. I do have a subscription for KAV. I usually don't use security suites. I like to choose my favorite AV, my favorite Firewall, etc..I'm not familiar with Kaspersky's Application Control. I may take a look at it soon.

    Not more powerful but you don't need both. If you were using a free antivirus, I would say it would be worth adding AppGuard, but not if you are using KIS.

    My experience is that new KIS releases are generally still buggy and it's best to wait until some patches have been released before upgrading to the latest version. And I don't know if the Topicstarter uses it in Interactive mode, but while Application Control is still is advanced/expansive as in v2013, the prompts/pop-ups have dumbed down in v2014.

    KIS 2014 is actually very stable here and patch (a) soon to be release includes a trusted mode for applications. This feature is not present in KIS 2013. The simplification of GUI and limited customization does not affect at all the security of the suite.

    Trusted application mode was discussed here:

    @Cutting_Edgetech

    Thank you for your post! I can see you are a fan of Appguard;)
    I totally agree with you regarding to choose favorite layers of security and not use a security suite. Personally I am comfortable with Comodo Firewall and disabled KIS's firewall. The problem is I really like KIS's Application Control and it is not present in the KAV package. If I would be sure AppGuard is more powerful then I am going to switch from KIS to KAV, but the problem is I installed AppGuard trial long time ago without using it and now I can not reinstall it to access it:'(
