I see 4 different versions of AVG on that list, and yet a well-known suite like McAfee isn't tested at all.

What's the surprise there? AVG free traditionally performs on par with their paid offerings, and in some tests better.

Nope, the suite did better than the free AVG for both versions.

Not so much, though at least they try to improve. Also, sometimes static thresholds just aren't enough.

I don't understand how AVG 2014 tests better than 2013. They didn't significantly improve those components in the new version. A cloud lookup feature was expanded but I doubt it can change malicious URL blocking from 45% to 71% (Internet Security).

Emsisoft have been getting some bad scores in URL tests, seems like its their Achilles heel.

So Bitdefender got 1st place in "Malicious URL."

Does the BD TrafficLight application give me those good results?

    ------

Kaspersky did well as always. Still, it is surprising when they are not in the top tier (98 vs 100%).

    ------

Also, in "Real Time" testing, nice to see Emsisoft beat Bitdefender for a change.

Would say Kaspersky was disappointing. Among paid 2014 AVs, only G-Data(!) was below it and even the difference between them was less than 1%.

this test is stupid and just from plain viewing does not match any results from other testing organizations as of late.

Malicious URL and NIS2014 with 39% blocked?
Eight times 100% result in Realtime?
I keep hearing there is no 100% protection...
