I prefer XP, but if I have to choose between 7 and 8, I'd go with 7 any day.

    I would prefer Windows 2000, but I'll settle for 7. :D

Windows 7, but with Windows 8 on laptop, I use the desktop feature instead of Metro.

Windows 8. Better security, and no more Aero.

    hahaha! :D
yes, but we traded the ugly Aero for the ugly flat square Metro look. ;)

Metro aside, i prefer Windows 8.
    it feels faster than 7.

been running the 8.1 Beta for months here and it works just fine. :thumb:

Both are ugly, so it's not really hard to forget Aero. :p

On the more serious part, and I believe I've said it before, Aero isn't game friendly to me. Windows 8 fixed some problems I had before when I was still on Windows 7. One thing that annoys me about Win 8 is configuring file associations. Somehow I need to do some extra works to make it right, I can't just configure it from the program setting itself.

what about Right-Clicking a file and chose "Open With"?

That's one way, but it'd be impractical to associate multiple file types. I find it to be more convenient to set them all via "Default Programs" setting in CP.

Now Windows 7, for the future I don't know: 8, 9 or Linux.

Windows 8 is by far the best Windows so far imo. I have now used it for a year and the only thing wrong with it is of course the "metro" interface, but it is easy to ignore it with classic shell.

Ready to change your sig? :D

BTW, I can't wait until I get my hands on 8.1. I know I can just try the preview, but I prefer to use the final version since it's what most people will use. So if there's something wrong, I have a right to complain. :p

My vote is for Windows 8. While I really have no time for the new metro interface and apps and lack of the start menu, I do like that it runs faster the Windows 7.
