Can someone post a list of all running processes associated with Bitdefender Internet Security 2014? I'm running it and having difficulty identifying the all executables in memory.

Quick question: Does BitDefender have a file size limit for it's real-time scan, and can we specify such limits?

Thanks for the process list. Based on memory usage it seems that vsserv.exe is the core process.

I'm running BIS by itself for now. Can anyone tell me how BIS performs against new malware, ransomware, etc? Is BIS by itself good enough even if a person treks to the dark edges of the web from time to time?

Does anyone know have they fixed issue with The Sims 3? Excluding game's .exe didn't solve the issue where the game (or the launcher) don't start (nothing happens).

I want to give BD AV+ 2014 another try but this issue was really annoying.

Hopefully someone can answer your question, but FWIW you might consider LastPass. The free version of LP is excellent and works with multiple browsers. I don't know if you can export the wallet data and import it into something else if you stop using Bitdefender at some point (?) I would only use the wallet in conjunction with the SafePay browser since it won't allow plugins.

After five months of use I have to say this is the BUGGIEST POS AV software I've ever used in 20 years of IT.

The user interface is HORRIBLE and the application has MAJOR stability issues.

The last straw was building a new PC where right after a lengthy staging it managed to totally bugger Win7 x64 on a personal PC of mine.

I have no idea why I switched from Eset and all Bitdefender managed to do in five months is cause GRIEF.

I might has well have set fire to $80 bucks as it seems I can't even sell of my 3 PC 2 year seats.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Owhh and I have to ad you can't even use restore points whilst this POS is installed unless you restore from safe mode and then the restore can't be undone!

    OUTRAGEOUS!

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

PS and don't believe the review site high praise BS as they are PAID OFF shills IMHO

Based on my experience of selling software, anyone who has to tell you they've worked in IT - and the length of time they've worked - is generally fairly clueless.

You won't believe how many people email us about not being able to download software.....but also claim they've worked in IT for 15 years!!! Really? Hmmm.

Compared to G-Dud 2014, it's still the king of stability.

I have used KIS, IS, Avast, F-Secure, and Avira.
I am now using BD IS, and am very pleased with it. I bought a 2 yr, 3PC license off ebay for $16 and change, and at this time do not consider going to another AV. AV-C results have been excellent for a long time.

Even if not being that harsh, I can also say that since the major change from a few years ago, from my experience (and check their forum as well - in the long run, not just this year's version) this is the buggiest AV I have ever used. Unpredictable in its problems and bugs. Some beta AV versions are eons ahead polished compared to this. And bear in mind this - the test organizations do not have it installed for a long time but just for the test cycle and it sometimes can work OK at the beginning and then start making troubles.

Good Evening! I have to agree with your experience Zerotox...after I've found on my system setup...once Bitdefender starts to initiate itself within the kernel level...then interesting...or not so interesting things begin to manifest themselves. Not loading properly...lagging while loading web pages...video player glitches and slowdowns...to name a few. My advice merely move on...their's an abundance of quality competitors on the market. Sincerely...Securon

There was a major upgrade/fixes released w/i the past two days . You can't get it from the normal upgrade window. You have to right click the Tray Icon and select Upgrade Now to get it.

Well, I have moved on quite some time ago and am really sorry for otherwise a really strong suite - protection-wise.

On my PC (except 10 sec black screen before Welcome screen) BD IS 2014 is working good. I've done one test in PC Mark 7 (all Windows 7 updates installed even optional updates).
    -without AV - 2724 points
    -with Avast 8 Free (v8.0.1497), 9 Free RC - 2574 points
    -with BitDefender 2014 IS (17.19.0.831) - 2729 points

    My system:
    AMD FX-4100 3.60 GHz
    ASUS M5A97 R 2.0 (UEFI BIOS v1708 )
    NVIDIA GTX 460 768MB (314.22 driver version)
    4GB Kingmax 1333 Mhz
    Samsung F3 500 GB 7200

If we look at those results it seems that BD have no system impact at all.
Georgia (from BD support team) has told me that they have fix for that black screen and it will be implemented in future build.

Based on my experience with software sales idiots who have undergraduate communications degrees and no tech IT expertise - anyone who has to insult strangers on a forum - is generally a fairly clueless regarding buggy software they sell.

You won't believe how many software salesmen people email providing support not being able to comprehend bugs in software.....but also claim the software functions properly and it's a ID-10T error.Really? Hmmm.

This video sums up pretty much how you and I would interact in the workplace 'Chip' the "Sales Guy".

I have had the exact same experience. I just assembled a new box and put Lucidlogix's MVP BS GPU pooling software/driver into my system and when I ran Arkham City when the LL driver hooks display driver Bitdefender totally wigged out and damaged the system is ways I was not able to recover. Thankfully I had an image of the HD prior to MVP installation so I was able to recover.

I've also had experience on production workstation XP machines that have .net framework issues because Bitdefender f'ed the WU/installer process.

Despite all of these deal breaker issues with the underpinnings of the software it's the HORRIBLE IDIOT LUDDITE UI that in the end did it for me. The fact I can't scale the window or move columns enough to see detection results properly etc and that totally MORONIC thick border around the UI wasting pixels...

    IT'S GOD AWFUL

and it's proof positive IMHO the review dorks (yet more non technical communications degree idiots) get greased!

    So...

Because I've determined after five months of use that Bitdefender SRL's software is very buggy and that after many years in IT I've never experience such random buggy behavior from AV — I'm somehow clueless simply for expressing I've never experienced so many bugs from AV in 20 years?

How did you come to the conclusion that the duration of my IT experience or mentioning such is somehow a function/indicator of my competency?

Please respond honestly because I can't fathom how my comments somehow indicate I'm as incompetent as you suggest and that I can't even download and install software properly.

BTW are you affiliated with Bitdefender SRL in any way?

You claim you are in software sales and prior comment suggest you have insider info on the Bitdefender release pipeline...

Are you Bitdefender UK perhaps huh or some pimply sub 18 kid who sells seats via your "PC medic" et al inhouse luddite consumer support/21st century little boy "news paper route" money stream Really? Hmmm.?

They have been releasing new builds requiring a reboot almost every week for MONTHS and it sure as hell hasn't helped with stability.

I find it humerus that the UI also doesn't seem to inform ludites enough that they understand a reboot is required and the dam thing then installs yet another update also requiring a reboot cycle/installer script action.

It reminds me of M$'s WU auto update function where you have to select shut down to apply updates yet the lusers only do reboot cycles...

Oh the joy of shutting down one of those machines with 50+ updates needing to be applied yet some KBs have dependencies that require KB install sequencing.... that's outta whack due to no shutdowns prior.
