I think they they are in the process of being bought over by some company. That is the reason that they are silent( it usually happens with such deals). They will post back once the process is over.

Don't worry mods are indeed watching, and will step in when appropriate.

Not sure who I was quoting but the situation is the same either way. If an image fails, be it AX64 or any other app its a bad situation. The problem is that AX64 is not JUST for protecting against disaster which should, for most users , be rare, its also for short term ability to reverse to a prior state, which would be a much more common occurrence.

But you are certainly correct that any image is better than no image,,,,as long as that image works when needed.

I just searched your posts and found the one you are referring to. I did see it (both the original and follow up) but had nothing to offer in reply. I suspect the Blue Screen has not been encountered by anyone else here as no one responded. Thats should not be interpreted as your question being ignored, its only that no one, I would guess, had anything to say on the subject.

I both hope you are correct (it could be a very good thing for Isso) and I hope you are wrong (could be a bad thing for AX64). But I could see where you may have a point, AX64 would seem to me to be a very attractive product for a larger co to purchase. If this is whats going on I hope AX64 does not go the way of Roxio GoBack, an awesome program at the time that was subsequently wrecked, IMHO, by Symantec. But I would bet the folks at Roxio came out of it quite well.

That's okay, I understand. It's just weird that the blue screen occurs only with the Intel Graphics driver installed. If I use Windows default VGA driver before installing the Intel driver, I get no such blue screen. It is something I can live with as restores work perfectly; it's just that the blue screen appears for a few seconds before reboot upon every restore, and wondered if others had encountered similar.

Some might say stick with the VGA, but then I don't get the benefit of customising Windows Aero.

That is odd but as long as the restores works its not a biggie I guess.

I tried to send Isso a support ticket and he said "I'm not able to answer your question at this moment...", etc.

    Hi SweX

I don't think so as of what I know of Isso he seems an honourable person and I am sure that if there was something 'wrong' per se he would have come forth and shared it with us, especially if it affected his users.

Most likely there is a change in his position that he cannot reveal just yet...but I am sure that as soon as he can he will.

Personally, I am sure he knows that we are on tenterhooks, given his relationship with us and ours with him.

Until then we will just have to be patient and await whatever it is. Until then...to misquote a favourite TV show of mine... "Speculation is futile" :D

I PM'd Froggie almost a week ago, and got no answer. Maybe he's on the board of directors of the new team. :D

I would not be shocked at all if Horizon Data System is involved in an AX64 acquisition.
They are in complete disarray. Their flagship RRX 10.2 is very broken and they can't seem to fix it. They are supplying bug fixes on a user by user basis. Each time asking the user "to see if it works". Every time as far as I can tell it doesn't.
AX64 is rock solid in comparison and far less complicated. Maybe they need to start all over. There aren't many options out there other that AX64.
Added: I see they took down the option of ordering AX64. This would be consistent with a sale as the new owners would not want revenue to go into the pockets of the seller. They would want it.
Also, HDS recently replaced their forums. I thought the reason was they were filled with horror stories of RRX 10 destroying data. Then, they were recently down again for several days. They said they were moving to another server.
Who knows if HDS is involved or not but someone for sure is.

I would be shocked. Considering that Isso knows how we despise that company. I hope not.

In a funny twist of events, the HDS forums was hacked this morning. It's right on the front page of the forums. :D

dear lord i hope its not horizon. imo over the years they have screwed up so much and for me at least i never have had any luck with rb always had one problem or another.

if that happens though what of already paying customers? and i fear a larger company will turn ax64 into a bloated nightmare wanting to add all kinds of junk to it like so many do.

lets hope for now that doesnt happen. hopefully we will hear something soon

I am sure the sale of the company would include continued support for existing users. Probably with the version they have and at some point they would be offered the "new version".
I share your HDS pain. Part of their problem is they offer no communication at all. And part of their problem is the approach they take in restoring systems is VERY complicated and temperamental. They are trying to stick band-aids on a cancer victim IMO.

Well a new version is already beta as of when Isso last communicated, so a new acquisition could practically release it with Isso's supervision. (If he's selling it)

I have a hunch, it might be Symantec, who specialize in acquiring then destroying good software. Powerquest Partition Magic and Drive Image are two good examples of how evil Symantec is.
I do hope it's not Symantec.

I would point out that this is pure speculation. It may be the case or it may not be. In fact, the idea that AX64 is being sold/bought is also pure speculation. Not productive and sure to start rumors all over the web. Time will tell whats going on,,,,I strongly suggest we just wait to find out.

Let's not put Isso under any more pressure than he may be under already if even half what is crawling on the grapevine is true \9not that I am saying it is, mind).

We know he cares about his users/customers so lets stop the conjecture, which I am sure he is aware of, and let him do what he has to do, etc.

All will be revealed in good time. ;)

I am not concerned about this at all. If AX64 is sold, we will be taken care of.
But this speculation is being caused by Isso.
He was extremely active in these forums. Probably more than what was needed. I sometimes thought he should spend less time responding in these forums and more time programming.
Now no word at all. Nothing.
Then add to this, AX64 is no longer taking new orders.
Nothing is normal about what is going on.
There is nothing wrong with users talking about what they think is going on when something absolutely is, and AX64 is offering no official explanation.
