I disabled it. For two reasons. 1. don't really need it, and 2. doesn't work that well.

Even in Avast 2014? The browser plugins are completely revamped and do a lot more than before... (although in the current beta, they're not too stable yet).

Privacy blocking has basically replaced Ghostery. Which is cool...

I have problem (same in Avast 8 ) with slow boot. I already tried to put loading of Avast services after other system services but problem is there. Windows is 7 SP1 x64, everything is updated.

I wonder when they'll fire up Dyna-gen so devs won't have to bother with Dyna that much (the system will generate patterns itself)...

If they are working fully I would like to test Avast.

Why they dont mention about Dynas in beta release notes?

RejZoR does Privacy blocking comes in the free version when the final release comes out before I get rid of Ghostery.

    Ta.

Yes. It will be completely free utility. One thing it may have is a little advertising of SafeZone (when visiting banking sites).
You can get it from this link

PrivDog is a nice replacement for Ghostery too.

I already did that from day 1. In BETA3 plugin is pretty much fully functional.

  22. Trying the chrome beta plug-in (removed BD Traffic light)

    First impression: score 2-1

1-0 faster (allthoug I will doubt one notices, both very little overhead in absolute terms), BD adds 0,062 seconds to chrome startup, Avast chrome extension in Beta only 0,034

    1-1 blocking
Don't know how this is going to perform but in older test previous Avast blocked fewer URL's, let's give BD the benefit of the doubt

    2-1 scope
Has tracking protection enabled (versus BD traffic light only indicating)

Suggestion: why not addblockplus protection also (all in one)?

  24. Let's not start an ABP discussion in Avast thread, but when this "acceptable ads" option can be disabled in a browser extension, I don't mind (I understand that there has to be a business model behind every 'free' offering, when it costs money to develop, operate and maintain that 'free' service).
