I still prefer GTA: San Andreas though. It's way bigger and more enjoyable to me.

Ah, so nostalgic. I remember my favorite cars were Rancher and Landstalker, and I love to drive them through the desert. Pretty reliable cars for gang wars as well. And don't forget Sammuel L. Jackson (hint: Officer Tenpenny). :D

That is obscene, considering all the hungry people in the World who suffer daily! That people can and will spend that kind of money on a game is unbelievable. The human race amazes me.....

I may chose to spend my money on Games, software, whatever, others may Drink up their money by going to a Bar, NightClub etc etc...

Games is a sort of entertainment for me, a good story, sometimes like a movie, only that you play through it.

And Rockstar Games is one of few developers that really deserves the success that they have got with the series of Grand Theft Auto. IMHO.

The hungry people would unfortunately still be in the same terrible situation if my neighbour would have stayed home being sober last weekend.

You are correct...unfortunately. That was the point of my post. $800 million dollars is a lot of money IMHO! :)

This is money spent by people who can afford it for their pleasure, and it rewards 5 years of hard work by developers.

What is obscene is bankers, the ultra elite rich, and corporations who make billions as a direct result of stealing from the less well off, destroying millions of lives and have more money than they can spend in a hundred lifetimes. Except they are powerful so stealing by them is legal.

And I'm sorry for going off on a tangent.

Back on topic, how much money/copy do the developers make? I'm trying to guess how many copies have been sold.

Having the TV on in the background, I heard someone mention 15 million copies sold, might be right, might be wrong. Need to research more about it online.....:doubt:

Imagine how much the pc version which no doubt is being worked on will sell. And then you have versions for PS4/XB1. I've seen quite a few people say they will buy multiple versions.

You sure you're not mistaking it for GTA IV? From what I've seen, GTA V is probably bigger than San Andreas.

Wow! The figures are insanely amazing. Must be a really anticipated version of the game. Anybody here got first hand experience with it in their Xbox or Playstation?

IIRC, GTA IV has only Liberty City, GTA V has only Los Santos. GTA SA has Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas plus one/two countryside(s) and a desert.

I bet the system requirements will pierce the roof. :argh:

Indeed that's true, I love the big world in San Andreas. But this world I really really really huge!!! :D......

That's one of the reasons why I prefer console gaming (exception for FPS games) as it has been optimized for the hardware, so that's nothing to worry about.

    @SweX

If it will be really that big then I wonder how long until you can clear the game. It takes me for about a month to finish San Andreas excluding the side missions, and that by using cheat codes. :p

Hopefully a long long time, I like when I get the feeling similar to "Oh Yes! Yet another mission!" - "huh it's not over yet  " And then when the main missions is finally over first you get a bit :(. But then you discover that you have only finished 55% of the game and left are all the extra stuff :D

The only cheat I use (sometimes) is if a mission is really long and really hard, and the health starts to get low, then I may use the cheat to get 100% health again. But no other cheat until the main missions are done at least ;)

Your probably right about that. Then they get no $$$ from me, as I do not like consoles.
I will continue to play San Andreas, I never finished it (don't use cheats) and I have Vice City, might dust it off and install. Still getting my bucks worth out of those game for now. :D

I don't know crud about games.

But I do have a question.

Can you start this & go demo/auto mode & let it play out like a movie? Looks like it'd be interesting just to watch.

AFAIK, no. You need to play the story. There are cutscenes but they're just the bits to explain the situations. But hey, what's the fun of just watching while you can explode random cars with a rocket launcher? :p

Too bad I don't like these games. But the dialog between characters on the commercials is very entertaining.
