    Hi Brian,

The best way, I had found to avoid these issues, is to re-size the old drive partition to less than 160GB from 250GB, assuming that the data is less than 160GB. Then it can easily be imaged without messing with "compact" option and then moved to the new drive which is 160GB.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

    Mohamed,

I like that method too. You can later resize the source partition back to the original size if desired. But compaction does much the same with the advantage that the source partition isn't resized. So I'm using Compaction more these days than resizing.

    Hi guys,

Thank you very much for caring about me. I'm ok, and I'm really sorry for not participating in the forum lately. I'll explain the reasons soon.

HEY, YOU! :) No reason to apologize, you are probably many times more busy than ANY of us and we DO appreciate the reason: your program. We can wait, your tech support up to this time has been exemplary.

Take your time, we (and I hope I speak for everyone at Wilders) would rather wait for excellence then have delivered to us a "rushed" rather "fairly" good program. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Isso, Glad to see you're OK! Now I can't wait to hear the reasons, which I assume involve the program. :)

This thread is not about Reflect but ax64. Any further posts will be removed.

    Thanks,

    Pete

I do use AX64, but others have said they use a 2nd program and said AX64 can not restore to a smaller drive. I will not mention this again, however.

i also use more than one program and have asked isso if that was okay. i will not compare them though in this thread. but i run ifw along with ax64. they so far are working fine together.

Thanks guys. It is a fine line. Asking if something is compatible with AX64 is okay, but juat asking about another product independently is probably better starting in a new thread.

Is normal use more than one solution for backup our drivers or partitions , why ?, because there is no a perfect tool. For example, I use ax64 plus snapshot driver (portable) over my tablet pc, this is a good couple, at least for me and this device.

OK, I see, I thought you were referring to a backup program specialized on drivers. Thanks for the clarification.

Maybe if it fully supports TrueCrypt FDE as I have explained many times. I'll need another program to restore when Windows doesn't boot. Then there's the obvious failsafe if something goes wrong (AX64 had been stuck restoring before).
