Baidu PC Faster beta

I just tried Toolwiz Care and it is not safer than PC Faster.

The registry cleaner gave a few false positives in the "Software Path" because it does a deep scan. Also it flags empty software keys are errors, which is a bad idea, as sometimes those empty keys are needed. There were no obvious false positives in the registry areas scanned.

I think that's enough reason not to use it. But other than that I prefer PC Faster because it automatically selects unneeded startup items for removal, and I like the user interface more.

 

The new version of PC Faster is not available for download from the PC Faster website. It makes no difference if you download the offline installer or the regular installer which just is an installer which downloads and installs PC Faster - whereas the offline explorer contains the full installer with nothing to be downloaded.

However the update is downloaded by the live update within PC Faster.

The next computer I install PC Faster on I will copy and past the change log from the updated. One important new change is the ability to ignore items in the SpeedUp module. For example I use it to ignore the Java updater, so PC Faster does not stop it from running at startup.

 

Glary Utilities is wonderful. I really love the Disk Space Analyzer.

So I take it that one does not get full functionality of Baidu Antivirus in Baidu PC Faster? The website had left me thinking that you did.

 

Question--I installed PC Faster, but I am very leery about just accepting it's suggestions en mass. It makes a lot of suggestions for improving boot times and deleting files, etc. Do most of you who use this product just accept it's recommendations or do you pick and choose?

 

I add updaters such as the Java updater to the ignore list, and let it clean everything else. It won't cause any harm, and any changes made can be reversed.

 

But, the registry cleaner gives false positives, making it unsafe to use.

No it's just an on demand cloud scan - there is no realtime protection. However, due to that you can safely install it along side any other security software.

I have Toolwiz Care in my system for 2 years, no any issue.

 

You may not experience issues, but I pretty much guarantee it will have remove some valid registry keys. I suggest you manually verify all so called registry errors found before cleaning the registry.

For the record, probably 99.9% of registry cleaners are unsafe to use - even CCleaner's registry cleaner when used with the default settings can cause problems.

 

Any portable version of Baidu Pc Faster ??

 

Not yet.

 

Installation folders size: 140 Mb is too huge for my laptop !!

A lite version will be recommended

 

Time for a bigger hard drive maybe.

 

Some scanners flag parts of baidu pc faster as malware specially the new baidu spark browser which most flag as dangerous and malware.

Baidu needs to address this.
