I don't want to start an A vs B, but I would like to have some impressions when you compare Baidu with 360 IS features. So please be objective and don't tell me this one is better than the other.

    Basically regarding engines
Baidu: Avira, Local proprietary AV, but seems that it doesn't have Cloud AV right?
360 IS: Bitdefender, proprietary AV and Coud AV.

And If we compare other features what things have Baidu that the 360IS doesn't and vice versa?

There is any AV test where both or any of them participate?

Any of them has an option to exclude a folder (or a drive) from being scanned?

Baidu can exclude drives, files, folders and file types from being scanned, which can be set up to the users preference. (It has an exclusion tab for that purpose) for example I don't scan .mp3's and jpg.

I've tried both on the same laptop at different times and Baidu used less resources and "felt" lighter.

Qihoo has 2 cloud engines, one of which being heuristic, a sandbox, junk cleaner, and HIPS. You can exclude files, folders, and extensions.

In China personal security market, the Big Three are:

    Qihoo(about 80%)
    Tencent(about 10%)
    Kingsoft(about 10%)

According to a report from Microsoft,China is now the country with least virus infection rate. This should owe to the free mode of anti-virus products led by Qihoo.

Before Qihoo was founded, the former Big Three are:Rising,Kingsoft, and Jiangmin. All of them were paid about $30 per year. But Qihoo beat them by free mode and excellent products, and nowadays almost all Chinese security softwares are free.

A year ago,Tencent published its Tencent Computer Manager and reached second mainly because of its monopoly and promotion.

Qihoo and Kingsoft have been developing their security products for many years, and Kingsoft is a company with a history over 20 years. Both of them have a long-time technology accumulation(Cloud,QVM,KVM,HIPS,and etc),while Tencent and Baidu are newcomers in this field.

I would say at this point in time it is not a fair comparison. Baidu is very early in its development compared to Qihoo which has had years to refine their product. Qihoo has been repeatedly tested by all the major independent labs where Baidu just has not been around long enough to have developed a proven track record as of yet. I think it has great potential, but right now I don't know how serious Baidu is about development, or if they just want something, anything to compete with their hated rival. If they're serious then it could a win win for the end-user. Whatever you do, do not try to run both products together!
