If you go in the About window of the backup browser, it'll say build 1145.

Okay guys, I have to put my mod hat on for a moment.

Time to leave the tv shows alone and get back on topic.

    Thanks,

    Pete

yes, but it's slow because writing to micro sd cards, even fast ones, is much slower than writing to a fast USB thumb drive or HDD, let alone SSD.

    multi-partition support

    Dear Isso,
In response to my first query concerning the projected availability of multi-partition support, you wrote (on April 25th) '3-4 months'. Three months later I asked again, and at that time you replied (July 18th) '2-3' months. May I now request an update?

OK, moderns sd micro, class 10, has high lecture and writing speeds , about more than 12 and 20 Mb/s respectively, which is more or less, what I get when plug in my tablet to a external HD. I'll try.
    Thanks

if it's fast enough for you it's a good solution.

fwiw, i tested my own modern class 10 micro SD card; the sequential write speed was about 6x slower than my 5400 rpm HDD speed and for small files the write speed was tons slower. (see pics for comparison from crystal disk mark). ymmv.

Just rename the folder, "AXTM" to something like "AXTM Old".

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

i did that also tried simply deleting the whole folder so it must keep a log somewhere other than that folder.

AS Aladdin said just rename (or delete) the old folder from within Win Explorer. The next time a snap is created a new chain will be started.

Un-check the hourly backup first. That will close the AX64 program. Rename the folder. Run the AX64 program. Checks the hourly backup and then make your first backup.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

I have an old vista 32bit computer I installed windows 7 on and use for learning. I have a second hard drive I have windows 8.1 on and a partition for AX64 backup. Just for fun I removed the windows 7 hard drive and put in an old blank one and did a restore. It worked great. Removed the drive and put back the original. But did notice one thing, AX64 made the system reserved partition into unallocated space. It booted and worked fine and thought nothing of it, but since have been reading about system reserved and people say once you have it you have to leave it. So why did AX64 remove it and why did the drive continue to work just fine? Remember I am having no problems just doing this to learn.

    Hi there,

SRP (System Reserve Partition) is useless and mostly it is recommended to remove it. It is only required if you use Bitlocker, which is only available with Windows Ultimate, not sure about Windows Professional. Bitlocker is not available with lower end Windows. Even with Windows Ultimate, most people don't use Bitlocker.

Those who are inclined to use Bitlocker, they tend to use TrueCrypt.

    Best regards,

    Mohamed

Thanks Aladdin for the reply. I do not use Bitlocker so I see there is no reason for concern, thanks for the information.

Unlikely that it will be 1.2.0.1121 as 1133 & 1145 have been circulating unofficially, i.e., effectively at a beta level although not officially announced as such, so I expect it would be one of these or an increment post those.

I tried it (since removed as I have a licensed version) I didn't see any difference in performance....But I haven't had any problems at all with AX64 anyway....Aside from some handy but non essential (for me) enhancements I'm more than happy with AX64 as it stands.

Hi Sly! When you did the RESTORE to the old BLANK drive, if you didn't use the ADVANCED function in the restore window, I don't believe AX64 will restore the SRP automatically. I don't know this for a fact (I don't ever use the SRP) but I have seen that option in the ADVANCED window and it's always been unCHECKed by default. If I'm right, what you describe is exactly what's supposed to happen.

As has been mentioned, the SRP really isn't necessary for most users. In fact, one of the easiest ways to eliminate it is to DELETE the partition (outside of Windows), then run Windows repair. It will find the anomaly and restore the proper BOOT code for a non-SRP system... I've done this many times.

    edit:
Isso, what's with the payment on the main site?
    I can't purchase the software!

Hi TheRollbackFrog, I did not see the advanced function, I clicked on view backups and then clicked on the backup and hit restore, I just looked at the backups and do not see advanced, does this show up after you hit restore? If not tell me where so I can look for it. Also you also say you do not use SRP, so are you also saying like Aladdin and do my restores like I did and let the SRP be deleted? I do want to know about the advanced in case in the future I find a need for it, right now I do not but you never know. Thanks sly53
Also would I need to do a windows repair as you mention since everything seemed to work ok?
